Kingcamp vs Hasika awning

I am looking for an awning for my new to me Tab 320. I need an awning that I can set up solo. Any feedback on these two awnings? The Kingcamp looks like it is easier to attach to the Tab 320, but the Hasika is a bit larger and has adjustable poles. Is the quality basically the same? Is the AllPro awning worth the extra money? I appreciate the feedback!

We have both. Both are easy to set up. Make sure to get heavy duty suction cups as the included ones are pretty wimpy.

I used an SUV awning for a couple of years. If you have the 320S You don't need anything to attach them. Put the back edge over the top of the 320S and strap each corner to the front and rear handle. Easy quick set up. We use a MoonShade XL now. Attaches quickly the same way but sturdier and gives more shaded area (9'x12') and doesn't stick up as high. More expensive though.

Yes, a lot more shaded area and much studier polls and material but also at a higher price.

I have the KingCamp and T@b 400 and am able to attach it by myself (took a few times to get down my method). It has fixed poles, but I think adjustable poles would help in those cases when I've been on a tiered campsite where there are steps down to the picnic table and not much "porch" space. The longer poles would have helped keep the front of the awning higher. But, honestly, the dome of the King Camp is high enough it hasn't been an issue.

@SLJ I like your adjustable strap setup. I had been using bungies, but less bounce in strap looks more secure in winds.

On my last trip I learned the lesson of why not to camp on the exposed leeward side of the lake in winter and had strong steady 20-30 mph winds come up and last all day. I wasn't too worried about the wind damaging the awning as it's very flexible, just didn't want to hear it flapping. I ended up taking down my KingCamp as it was deforming and I knew it would drive me crazy worrying about it. I had been using bungies strapped around the grab handles to hold it, but the wind was strong enough it kept popping up and over the edge of my T@b. For Christmas I bought some sew-on Keder rail edging and some polyester thread and will sew on an edge to see if using the Keder rail is any more secure. I'll try to remember to report back after I've sewed it on to see if it makes much of a difference (I think @SLJ's strap approach might be the biggest gain.)

After a hard day of rain I found the water eventually soaked through and would drip on me so I used a can of this water guard and it helped a lot. I just waited until I went camping, set up the awning on the picnic table, then sprayed it down and let it dry.

As inexpensive as the KingCamp awning is, I felt I could try it first and then if it didn't work go to a more expensive option. So far, it's been great and I love sitting under it in a light rain and like how it makes going in and out drier in all conditions and cooler in the summer. I think on a 320 as it's lower and a larger portion of the size of the trailer it would probably give even better "harder" rain coverage. It's kind of hard to prevent getting wet when it's a gully washer and raining sideways (there you'd need some side protection.

@andytabrv , did you end up sewing the keder strip to the kingcamp you own and how did that work for you? Thinking of doing this to either the Hasika or the kingcamp for a diy instead of the $300+ awning/visor options. Pics please!

We had the moonshade xl for a t@b400 and it was very nice and easy to set up. just laid one long end up on the roof and tied it down to the habdles. stayed up nicely in any kind of weather.

@JNorge sorry for the late reply. I did! And it really helps. I hand sewed them and it took forever and a week. I did it over the course of a month a few nights each week. I went down and back with a double nylon thread I got of amazon. If you have a friend who knows how to sew and who has a strong sewing machine or know a tailor that will do it for you I highly recommend paying them (assuming it’s not too much.) But, I got some nylon thread, a thick needle, and a big thimble.

I start by sliding it in the left side of the keder rail, push/pull it through until it’s positioned over the door where I want it. Then I attach the fiberglass poles and prop it up. I find it’s faster to put up now that I have the keder rails.

My next scheme is to figure out some way to roll it up to the side of the camper at night so I don’t have to worry about storms. I think I might be able to sew a three Velcro straps to each ends and the middle so that I could fold up the polls, set it to the ground, unhook the fiberglass polls while leaving them attached, then use the ground polls folded to the edge to start rolling it up. Then have the whole thing rolled up (very un-neatly) and use the Velcro to keep it bundled while it’s still held in by the keder rail. This is half-baked and I think the challenge will be holding the wad-o-awning up away from the door so it can open/close. I had to get up one night and quickly pull off the awning and toss it partially wet in the back of my SUV when a blowhard storm came through and the awning was bouncing up and down. Once it’s not 90 degrees and 100% humidity come fall I’ll try to figure it out.

I really am happy with how it works and it’s so much cheaper. It packs so nicely. I liked it so much I bought the Hasika (since I couldn’t find the King Camp anymore) to use with my SUV for my pull out kitchen.

Thanks, AndytabRV! I have a very old 2008 clamshell and mostly camp in California, hence rain is not really a thing most of the time. That said, shade and outdoor storage under cover would be nice. I don't know if the PahaQue line is worth the money, but it would save time on the major sewing project. I am also not sure if it is that much sturdier, either. Thanks for posting your techniques and experiences.

Same. Just put one side of the Moonshade over the roof and strap to the handles. Sturdy and no water gets in between it and the door side. Did the same with the SUV awning we had before it.
