Stereo Display too bright at night

Hi again, we slept in our new T@B Q to test the mattress for sleeping. We are getting a foam topper.  I absolutely adore our T@B, but would like to know if any of you are bothered by the stereo display light at night while you are trying to fall asleep.

I eventually went and got a dark bath towel and pulled the TV out and put the towel over it to partially hide it.

can the display brightness be turned down?

Thanks for any help.

Do a search on "Jensen" - There's been at least a couple discussion on this - As I recall, there's a way to dim it or even shut it off - Might be in the manual also.

it is in the manual ... though I haven't done it yet ... will need to do for the next trip ... note the Alde panel (on a 2016) is also quite bright.

There is a + or - dimmer display button in the upper left hand corner of the stereo.

I do know the Alde digital display can be put on a "blank screen" stand-by. It is bright (for me). It's under the "wrench" looking icon indicating setup/tools on the display.

There are different Jensens in different model T@Bs. Mine doesn't have bluetooth (ok with me). I can dim the display, but it will default to bright again if you use a cut-off battery switch while storing the unit. Clock has to be reset too (not a big deal for me either - I'm lucky if I can remember what year it is).

Yes, I can dim mine by going through the menu, but like Ratkity says, it defaults to bright every time power is shut off.  I put a sticky note over mine, but paper and clear tape will do the same trick.

Mine is a night light for those 2 am nature calls. Dim blue light is a lot easier on sleepy eyes than the white bathroom LED.

I have zero light curtains in my bedroom at home.  I've learned how to feel my way around.  So far I've managed not to pee in the waste basket.  =)

An early mod I did was to install a cut off switch just for the stereo system so I could turn the light off completely.  I posted about it in the Little Guy forum before there was a dedicated T@B forum.

LOL we never k ew you could dim the bas... Er, light. Cardboard taped over the display- and a baseball hat hangs on my Progressive monitor. We even taped over the TV led, which is like a beacon inside the reflective li'l Tab.

I wasn't able to dim the display to a sufficiently low level of brightness so I attached a small piece of window tinting material with velcro. At night I just flip down the flap to block the light.

Love the idea of those dimming sheets!  After three trips in our t@b, I now carry post-it notes to cover the stereo and black electrical tape for the tv power light.  I can still see the smoke and CO detector lights, but am toughing it out with them for now.
