Searching the forum

I haven't been overly successful using the one word search method (which word?) but have had sone success using googles site search, e.g.

site:http://tab-rv.vanillaforums.com/discussion sink label

Does anyone have other suggestions for finding what you are looking for?

That's what I use too, Photomom. I think it's a very handy, but little-known Google search tool.

OK ... this should be at the top on use the search function ... I was trying to use the search box before posting questions, but it was of limited value ... this is AWESOME and totally got me the information that I was looking for on tongue weight! Thanks!

Maybe this tip could be posted in the "~Please use the search function first!~" announcement thread that appears at the top of the forum topics.

I'd do it myself, but it's not my tip, or my announcement!

I'm missing something here, guys. Is the above what I should type to find a discussion on 3 amp fuse? Obviously I've never used the Google search here. Help me learn so I can put it in the announcement.

I've never used quote marks, and I've always put the site:whatever.com before the search terms.

Also, I've never included http://www.

Always works for me.

Maybe Google doesn't care.

OK, the Vanilla software has been upgraded to a "better" search engine. It's a free upgrade so you can use what you prefer.

In my one search of "3 amp fuse", there was only one page of found occurances. On the LG forum, a search of "30 amp fuse" gave me 20 pages, but it told me there were 20 pages, which is better. It picked up occurances of amp, as in Zamp, other occurances of fuse, but it did not pick up every occurance of 30, unless that is on the18 pages I didn't look at.

If you don't like this upgraded search on the forum, don't use it, just use the Google. This is the only free upgrade that Mike and I could get.
