T@B speaker size and mounting depth

Hello, all:

In a past life I installed car audio, and I have some 6.5" higher-end speakers laying around - has anyone tried to replace the speakers in their T@B?

I recall that someone did but can't remeber who as it's been awhile - Have you tried searching "speakers" ?

I see someone replaced stock speakers with 5.25" Kickers - I've be able to mount 6.5" in similar space as long as there was enough depth. Thanks! (I'll be putting in Polkaudio MM6502's)

Did you mount the component tweeters? If so where did you mount them. Any update on how the fit? I also have a set of these speakers laying around I though about using.

My mistake - they're MM651's, so they are coaxial, rather than DB6502's.

That said, if I had to get the DB's to fit I'd probably take the existing cabinet fronts off and replace them with these:

and then mount the tweeter in the upper corner by the trailer wall, with the driver moved to accommodate. Crossover goes in the bottom of the cabinet with epoxy, then wool fiber fill.

If you want to get fancy, put a passive radiator on the side aimed across the back...
