Checklists, Revisited

Is it time to remind us of all of the wonderful checklists you created? I was thinking how helpful they were as we contemplated getting ready to go, and how they gave us a hint of the things we needed to be familiar with before we left! So I searched on "checklists" and didn't come up with much. Michigan Mike updated a DM T@B checklist called Ready, Set, Go and Rick and Sandy Stevens created a manual for their 2014 S Maxx T@B, the breakaway, which incorporated some lists, but I know there are others. I found "The Mother of all Checklists" site online. As Verna did, I saved the Breakaway manual on iBooks. If you have created your own, do you want to share them? (Caveat: personal preferences vary but checklists provide such a great jump off point)

Great post! When we left the dealer last week I remembered to do a once around check and found  a cap open on one side, and the door unlocked on the other. Glad I remembered!

I just found another one by Photomom under the T@B Task Lists thread. Nice!

I remember when we left the dealer with our current T@B they waved good by!  A couple hundred miles down the road we stopped for a break.  A walk around revealed the door steps fully extended!  Always a good thing for a good walk around every time before you start off.

No real harm in leaving the step out, but I suspect it's the RV equivalent of boating with your dock bumpers still hanging over the rail.  :-)

I know at least one person who wrecked the extended steps on a boulder next to a parking space.

As an Air Force pilot we had checklists for everything.  I built myself a checklist for the TAB as soon as I got it.  Even though by now I know all the steps I still walk around with the checklist in my hand when I am arriving, departing, hooking up, etc.  However, I also have a rule that when I lock the door I stow the steps.  That way I can see that the door is locked when I move away from my campsite.  If the steps are out the door is unlocked.  If the steps are stowed the door is locked.
