Window valance modification for extra storage.

Ag@tha was distressed when I considered using cargo netting to add extra storage to her valance top (I think she rebelled at being considered “cargo”). So I used cabinet railing cut to fit from Lowes. Adhered with Gorilla wood glue and, so far, it works a treat at keeping things from jumping out. I stained with a light oak to match and am pretty pleased.

    Great mod and looks real clean!  I use the cargo netting on both valances and it works, but also gets pretty cluttered and doesn't look as nice as the mod above.

    I love the length of your fabric balance. Do they hang about 4" below the wood?

    I like the curtains, too.  They add a nice devorative tough without blocking light.

    Yes, about that. I just use small tension rods to hold them up.

    Those lightweight cafe tension rods. Stay in place really well.
