Since we are sitting here with 14" of new, heavy wet snow on the ground, and four more hours worth yet to fall, I'd thought I'd post a list and some pics of some of the mods we've done since last fall. In no particular order...

Installed the stay open hinges on the upper kitchen cabinets.

Hinged the left and right bench storage area lids.

Reversed the frig door.

Installed much better stereo speakers.

Rebuilt the entry step, way more comfortable to use now, for us and the dogs.

Reversed the over-the-counter light. (I did not like the wiring for it sitting on the bottom of the cabinet, generally in the way. So I extended the wiring from behind the Jensen and ran it across the top of the cabinet behind the top rail, secured and out of sight. Then down behind the right middle stile, through a small hole to the reversed light. Lined up perfectly and it can now be reached from outside the door).

Redid the plumbing under the sink. Provided a bunch more usable space.

Added a shelf and a half dozen assorted Tupperware bins to the inside of the doors. Holds all the utensils, cooking gadgets, spices, etc. No spillage.

Made a stove top cover/cutting board/tray out the old collapsable tabletop. Hated that thing. Rubber feet underneath, so it doesn't slide around. Very useful.

Reversed the two side windows to shade from the bottom/screen from the top. (Driver's side took two days, yuck)


Trying to keep up with Pop-T@B and all his tricks has been fun, but I'm not done yet.

    @JanandDave, Nice job! Just when you think you're done doing mods....somebody comes up with a REALLY cool idea. I'm still workin' on mine after over 2 years! ;)

    @JanandDave, Another question: Did you change the pulls for the cupboard doors? Just curious because I have the same year trailer as you, and mine don't look like that. :o

    Pop-T@B changed them to oil rubbed bronze along with the kitchen faucet and a few other things. 

    Which reminds me, I have the original nine in a bag somewhere if anyone needs a replacement or spares.

    I would love details about the plumbing mods under the sink. There’s a ton of space under there if you could make use of it.

    There’s a post somewhere about how that was done. By Dale, I think, but could be wrong. Basically just raised the trap several inches. A couple of new 60* angles was all it took. And cutting things just right. Look under plumbing or the “my favorite mods” post. Think I used a couple of inches of 1 1/2 pipe also. If I find it first, I’ll let you know.

    Great mods! The sink in my 2017 has the drain towards the center left and a raised PTrap, it's a workable space. I really like your extended step! I would also want legs to keep it stable, no bounce. I'm going to have to cogitate on that one! Itwould be cheaper than spa steps, which I've been eyeing online. Thanks!

    @Homebodyatheart stability is not a problem. The step is quite stable. I did put a retractable support under under it because of the added leverage put on the step mounting points. The retracted position allows easier entrance for quick stops without pulling out the step

    Kill a couple of birds with one stone...I am on a low bandwidth camp connection, can’t watch vids...any idea if this can be installed horizontally?

    My question would be how the membrane in the hepvo works after being left dry for months at a time. For $30 might be worth a try.

    I looked at my 400 sink drain. It appears to be 1 3/4" P trap. The 2 sizes of the Hepvo are 1 1/4 and 1 1/2. One would have to downsize the fittings to make the Hepvo work.

    If you recheck I think you will find it is 1 1/2”.

    We try not to leave it set for months at a time.

    Correct that is 1 1/2” ABS drain pipe

    Well, I’d be grateful if you post instructions including any other parts you use. I look at the plumbing under the sink and the hepvo installation instructions and can’t visualize how you’d hook it up.

    Dale - please order two.  One for the kitchen sink and the other for the shower.  An extra 2" in the shower would be appreciated!

    The p-trap for the shower extends below the shower floor inside a box. There’s no way to give you 2 more inches @Tabaz.

    I'd like to know how you changed the door around.  I think being able to reach in from the outside would be really great.

    Just remove top and bottom hinge bolts  and brackets on right side and install them on the left side. I did try it that way once. I found that I preferred it back on the right. Try it you might like it.

         Thanks to Photomom who brought up HEPVO . No more ptrap. No more vent. Eazy install. Link on Photomom. and Youtube. Wow is that going to open up some space.
