Keeping Alde On

Ok! So we are wondering if people feel comfortable leaving the Alde on when they are camped (boondocking or otherwise) and they head out for a hike, or a bike ride, or a trip to the local coffee shop or do they tend to turn the unit off. If they do leave it running, do they just turn down the thermostat so that the hot water tank stays warm but they are not using too much energy heating the trailer when they are not there? On our last trip. We tended to shut the alde off when we left for the day. Thanks, in advance, for your suggestions.

Depends on how cold it is. The colder it is the more likely we are to leave it on. Don’t like coming home to a cold trailer.

I leave it on all the time while camping (depending on weather). The thermostat makes it just like the furnace at home.Verna, Columbus, IN

The Alde works pretty quickly so we turn it on only when needed--typically for hot water or maybe a shot of heat on a chilly morning. We don't camp in extreme cold and even in cooler weather don't spend time inside other than for sleeping.

I leave it on (on propane) at a set temp. I boondock with solar, so I'm not too worried about running down the battery from the circ pump.Sheila and the Mullis Pups (Winston, Morgan, Leroy & Dakota)
