  This afternoon was a beautiful event celebrating the wonderful woman we knew as Liz.  We were able to celebrate her life, and meet other people who loved her as much as we did.  Part of Liz’ work at Home Depot was putting on children’s workshops. Rumor has it they are going to name one of the kid’s workshop rooms in her memory.  A fitting tribute!

  It was a very nice tribute to a well loved lady! And, as Eric says...if you went home hungry it’s your own fault! I have never seen such a nice potluck buffet full of such a wide variety of amazing foods! It was heartfelt by all there. Eric, you are truly blessed to be surrounded by such great folk.

  Yes, I am blessed, not only to have had such a beloved lady as a very big part of my life, soul & heart, but to have folks around that were absolutely blessed to have my astonishing wife in their lives as well. A very heartfelt thanks to those who attended, and through their thoughtful giving made it a very special day not only for myself, but to those Liz held very dear. Thank you ALL for a very special tribute to a very special lady. 
  A special thanks to my T@B friends for the beautiful flowers! (the hummingbirds added to the arrangement made it all the more special for Liz's daughters!!!!)

  @ericnliz. Haven’t been on the site for months. So sorry to hear this news. Only met Liz once last summer. I remember a sweet and friendly woman and how hard she worked helping you with the barbecue. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

  @Mariner459, Doing well. Just got back from Lincoln Rock Rally. I miss Liz terribly, however, she wouldn't want me to stop doing things that we both enjoyed, so I just keep on keepin' on. I haven't yet decided on Ft. Worden, and also noticed there are no spots available at this point. Let me know if you hear of an opening please.

  Thought I'd post this up. This Thursday, my youngest son & I will be heading to Swan Lake with some great friends. The purpose of this trip is to fulfill Liz's wishes & spread her ashes at the lake. I can say at this point I'm anxious, apprehensive, happy, sad, and a whole array of feelings that are hard to describe. I made a promise to her a long time ago that, in fact both of us wished to have our ashes spread there. I'm glad I will be in good company to make this event happen. She will be in good company there, as a LOT of our friends have been put to rest there as well. God speed Liz, you'll be in a happy place!

  Eric, hope you find peace during your time at Swan Lake.  My DH shares a similar experience with his first wife and she now rests in an area of Lake Placid.  You are in our thoughts, glad you will be with friends and family and hope this is one more step in the healing journey.

  @ericnliz Safe travels my friend. You and Liz continue to be in my prayers! It sounds like the perfect send off for her. Are you going to prop her fishing pole up at "her spot" in the late afternoon till the after dark, just in case a fish bites?

  Well, we're back from 4 absolutely awesome days at Swan Lake. Liz is now where she wanted to be with the help of my son & a lot of great friends. 5 really good friends showed up to say their farewells to Liz. She is in several different locations surrounding the lake, all of her favorites. I took the time to catch her limit of rainbow trout in her honor at one of her favorite fishing spots. I know she was there with me, as I caught the first 4 in 17 minutes. Oh, and yes, I have a witness...my son. He was in shock how fast I caught them, and I told him that every time I caught fish that fast, Liz was with me. In memory of Liz, I gave the fish to one of my friend's daughters because she said she wanted fish for dinner. I could see the smile on Liz's face when I presented the fish to her. ( I didn't tell her prior that I was going to do that...just because.)
  To say the whole trip was a happy occasion would be lacking the truth. There were VERY difficult moments that brought tears to my eyes & a heaviness to my heart. All in all though, I'm elated that I kept my promise, and was surrounded by some amazing friends & my son. In her honor, breakfast the first morning was huckleberry pan cakes. I know she was smiling as we feasted on her favorite all-time breakfast.
  There are pictures that were taken that I need to follow up on & will post at the earliest time following the receipt of the pictures. I also have FINALLY received pictures of our trip when the baby loon was being tagged. Later today, I'll have my son help post those as well.
  To have my son there with me, meant volumes, as he's the only one of my children that has camped at Swan Lake with Liz & I over the years. His support was beyond what words can describe. We both laughed, cried, smiled, and reminisced about some really great times & moments there with Liz.
  Rest in peace my sweet lady, you're where you should be!

  Also, I have to mention, my son caught four rainbows after I went fishing. I KNOW for a fact that Liz was with him.....he caught the biggest one!
