@JustJohn, how are your action packers attached to the platform? I had planned to just attach mine with straps, but would prefer something more permanent.
Photomom... Would you kindly share the Amazon order numbers, please. I have an action packer bolted to that side of the platform and can't reach the outlets. Thank you in advance.
I thought about mounting some permanent boxes on the platform next to the main box but then decided against it. I prefer to have a modular system with mobile boxes. I have one 8 gallon action packer as a fire box that I strap onto the platform. Once at camp it is removed and set over by the fire ring. Holds charcoal,…
Nice job, Dale! I have actually considered doing a similar mod with a HF ATV rack. These little things get repurposed all of the time! What size action packers are you putting there?
I had trouble finding a lock for the Rubbermaid Action Packers that would not stick out too far. A small luggage lock is too narrow and allows the handle to slide over it. Simple solution for a "skinny" lock is to put a washer over one end.
Thanks, @ontheroad. I kept forgetting to call Elton about them carrying these, as it will definitely be a plus to get them in Sugarcreek. When I briefly talked to him last week, he said he would have the lockable style, which means a lot to me. Those 30 amp electrical cords and the g-flex (or is it g-force) water hoses…
rubbermaid action packer attached with ubolts and straight bottom bolts with large washers. pretty much water proof. I only keep out side use items in them. Anything expensive is either locked in the tub or in the truck. Gas is off when tub is locked which is seldom
I have a 15’ in there now. No pics, it’s just a couple of holes drilled in the bottom of each Action Packer, spaced to match the holes on the platform. Bolts inserted from below, with large rubber and metal fender washers to protect aluminum of the platform and spread the load, and wing nuts inside the bins.
Great idea! I'll be buying one if if fits with the Outback platform and is reasonably priced. Also, I was looking for another key to put on my ring (TAB door, Yakima rack, tongue lock, hitch lock, propane cover lock, spare tire lock, action-packer and Jerry cans)!!! :)
