What about the new Curt Echo Brake Controller...wireless and just plugs into your 7pin. Its controlled with your phone. By the way, the brakes still work as previously programmed in the event you lose your phone or it gets eaten by a bear...or your dog.
Whilst the REDARC is very good, I use the Curt Echo, and have had no issues with it. It is easy to setup, and requires not dash mods or hard wiring. The REDARC control on the Jeep SUVs replaces the 12VDC power point, which I did not want to give up. Cheers
The Echo does have a love/hate relationship with few customers in the middle. Ours has worked fine...after some time on the phone with Curt. They are very helpful. I know others using and Echo for many years without problems. I also know people that have nothing except problems. It's a modern product with modern quality…
RF, I have a 2015 Range Rover Sport. 6 cylinder with a SuperCharger. It tows like a dream. I use the Curt Echo Bluetooth Brake controller. RR Sport came with factory tow package and 7 pin connector. I can see buying a used Defender down the road.
I use a vehicle non specific (works with any TV that has a 7-pin with 12VDC charging circuit on center pin. It is an Curt Echo, uses your smart phone to setup and control brakes manually, if desired. No need to modify vehicle wiring, it connects into the 7-pin and the trailer plugs into it. cheers
@rfuss928 is spot on to draw attention to the marginality of the GV relative to the task. Approaching or exceeding tow limits is not to be trifled with. Marginal towing can be dangerous. WRT the vehicle, the GV may be a candidate for a transmission cooler to prevent the thing from burning up in the Sedona heat. WRT…
Thanks webers3. We just decided to purchase the Tab 320S Boondock. This is our first purchase out of state. The dealer is located in PA, about 5.5-6 hours away. The Jeep has the hitch and the dealer said they could install the Curt Echo or Prodigy RF quickly. Anything I should so ahead of time?
Installed Redarc Liberty in my 2020 Ridgeline after using a Curt Echo wireless system. Got plug in harness specific to my TV and ordered snap in for dash (fits in unused switch button that popped out an left lower dash side of steering wheel). Looks like factory install and works ver smooth.
The guy I spoke to at Curt knew immediately what was wrong when I described the blue circle going all the way around. He didnt yet know that I had the controller taped to my campers 7pin. He said when you plug in the echo you should be seeing a blue light blinking right away. He said that indicates the echo is syncing with…
I have a 2021 Subaru Outback Onyx XT as TV for 2021 Tab 320. The brake controller I have is the Curt Echo. Tab was purchased July 2021 and the Echo worked smoothly until the end of 2021 when the brakes began grabbing (jerkiness) especially as I was coming to stop. Went approximately 1K miles through the season. The brakes…
