{{ My understanding from reading several posts here, power system guides, and lithium battery guides. }} To Clarify. The T@B stock power system's charger feature does and does not work with lithium batteries. Does . . :) . . it can be safely connected to the battery and it will charge the lithium battery to a point. Does…
I'm still wrapping my head around the NuCamp ordering process. As a result of my questions, the NuCamp website is being corrected regarding the 320-S Lithium Battery Upgrade. The 320-S page has one remaining error as of this date. The Lithium Battery Upgrade still shows the TAB 400 3000W Multi-Plus inverter rather than the…
Check your WFCO model number: WF8735/P - Not for lithium batteries (charges to 80%)WF-8735LiS - Has switch for charging lithium batteriesWF8735-AD - Auto Detects for charging lithium batteries (doesn't always so you may have to fiddle with it)
Just read a disturbing piece (link below) about lithium battery fires. With many in the RV world going to them, plus all the push for electric vehicles, this could be a huge problem. My understanding is that even overcharging a lithium battery could cause a fire, and most lithium charging systems thus have special circuits…
If you have the "dual 6V Harris batteries", they are inside a vented box. The box, when you change to lithium, will no longer be needed. You should try to look at the actual space where the new lithiums can fit. This thread has a photo of some "Battleborn" batteries that had to be adjusted to fit into the spot (if this is…
Anybody know any technical reason why one shouldn’t connect a Victron smart charger to a lithium battery simultaneously with the WFCO and the Victron solar charger? Trying to get around the WFCO non recognition of lithium batteries.
Planning on upgrading to either one or two Battleborn lithium batteries (100 - 200 Ah). I've heard that the solar charge controller in the 400 (ours is 2018 and has a "Rohs" brand controller) won't fully charge lithium batteries in the 400. Is this true? Should I invest in a new charge controller, such as a Victron?
I just bought a 2023, new never titled before, 320 S BD. I’m installing Lithium. I want to use a DC/DC charger as well so to charge while driving. I have the WFCO sent in already for the firmware change to lithium. My guestion is my TV’s alternator is in danger using a DC/DC charger and going to lithium? I have a Honda…
@Dutch061 - so, this may be obvious, but does the lower voltage on the regular converter explain the incomplete charge of the lithium battery? Will the lower voltage eventually fully charge the lithium? Brad, No, it only charges the lithium batteries to about 80-90% charge level. This, however, is the recommended charge…
I've since identified that I have the WFCO 3875 AD auto-detect converter, and that it is indicating a green LED, which I believe means that it is in Lead Acid mode, and so could not charge a lithium battery fully. I believe it should show a blue LED when it detects lithium; apparently this model sometimes has trouble…
