Hi, I will need to see what charger I'm using when I get home, but when I first get back from camping, I hook my 2-6 volt batteries (also 210 amp hours each), wired in series, so that they charge as one 12 volt battery up to my main charger. The charger is essentially seeing one 12 volt battery with 210 amp hours. I may be…
My thinking is to bring my 2 6 volt batteries inside this winter and connect them in series and use this battery tender: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00068XCQU/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I38INSOY2XGF10&colid=SNS4MFMP6VLR Any problem with that?
Thanks John. I wasn't sure about going to all the trouble to do the two 6 volt batteries but may need to consider that. I'm taking that new battery back though!
So, I've got the two new Trojan T-105 batteries in the garage and I've been reading about battery maintenance on the Trojan Web site. The user's guide talks about setting the charger to "Equalize" to equalize the batteries. Would this be a 12-volt charger hooked to the positive terminal on one of the batteries and the…
Charging from your vehicle 7-way doesn't work very well, even if you have a high capacity alternator, and especially so if you really do have two 6 volt batteries! You definitely want another means to charge, either solar like @Newfisher mentioned or a generator. If you do have two 6 volt batteries and they are fully…
@Yoshi_TAB You would still want to use a lithium compatible charger like a Noco Genius 10 to periodically charge your batteries with 14.4-6 volts to rebalance your batteries. The easiest way was to buy the adaptors and plug it into the solar port.
I think the 105 amp batteries from lifeline mentioned are 12 volts. I am using 6 volts in series in my setup. I believe the series/parallel description was related to the solar panels themselves. Same sorry if I misread.
Anyone with the BMV-712 monitoring the midpoint voltage where you have two 6 volt batteries in series supplying 12 volts? Wondering if it is worth doing. I plan to install a Bluetooth temp monitor when we go Victron solar.
