Guessing the 4 to 1 ladder rule does not apply ...I installed a backup camera behind my roof vent. A step ladder on the side was all I needed to reach it. I did throw a blanket over the side in case the ladder slipped or I dropped something. I agree with @Sharon_is_SAM .
