Another trip on Vancouver Island, this time to Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park.
My site was located on the edge of the campground and so I had a beautiful view of the cedar and Douglas fir forest.
True to "June-uary" tradition, on the 3rd day, the temperature barely got above 50F and it rained for about 24 hours. The old canopy performed beautifully and it was too bleak for solar action:
And the cool, wet weather brought out Vancouver Island's infamous banana slugs, the vacuum cleaners of the forest. This one was especially large, about 5" long:
And what trip would be complete without a T@B sighting? A lovely old Dutchmen with a Jeep TV:

Woods Lake, Colorado. This is elevation 9425 ft. but it was 90 degrees on June 15th. Even 80 degrees was a really warm day here in the olden days (pre-1990).
This week we stayed in LaGrande, Oregon and then on to Mary Hill State Park not far from Goldendale, Washington, shown above. Good weather there but blueberry-sized hail in LaGrande. That was a very load awakening at 1:30 am.

We finally got out for the first time this year with our 400. We just went a few minutes down the road and spent 4 nights at Lake View Campground at Twin Lakes.
First time out on the road since...November of 2019. Just a quick 200 mile trip to the Mojave Desert Preserve and the Hole In The Wall Campground. Usually baking hot by mid June, but a little weather system kept the temps down (mid 90's were the highest) but, the wind was way up for a day. 30 spaces in the campground, with water and a dump station! A little shade provided by a ridge on the west side of the campground after about 5 PM. First night sunset with clouds racing by. With no moon, there was great meteor, satellite, and Milky Way viewing. Still not "dark" enough for great photos. Las Vegas is less than 100 miles away, and the strip of cities along the Colorado River through Havasu, Blythe, and Needles make for a lot of "airglow" in the photos. Still, great to be out!
One night stand in La Pine, OR on our way to Northern CA. Very nice state park right off HWY 97 south of Bend. Steep site, happy to not have to hitch and unhitch. Great spot for fishing, rafting, swimming.
