Many PA state parks will open for camping next Friday, except those few still in red, mostly on the eastern side of the state.

The pressure lifting as we move to yellow has been palpable this week.

This link takes you to a website where you can filter by county in PA and get up to the minute statuses.

Per the Gov.of West Virginia: State park campgrounds, along with state park lodges and cabins, will be allowed to reopen to out-of-state guests beginning next Wednesday, June 10, provided that all additional guidelines are followed to help keep West Virginians as safe as possible. One restriction will be that out-of-state guests will be limited to stays of no longer than seven days.

Just received this from Massachusetts DOR:This is an important message regarding Covid-19 and its effect on your Massachusetts state park camping reservation. To provide campers and staff with the safest camping experience possible, additional spacing will placed between available campsites; and yurt, cabin and group camping for the 2020 camping season will not be available.  As a result, all 2020 camping reservations will be cancelled to reconfigure available campsites.

Your entire reservation will be automatically cancelled and refunded in full.  You do not need to contact anyone.  Refunds will be processed to the credit card used to make payment.  Refunds may take a few weeks to be processed.

Beginning at 9:00AM on Monday, June 22, reservations will be accepted, on a limited basis, as we reopen most campgrounds on July 1. A temporary 90-day camping fee increase has been put in place for non-MA-residents.  To avoid long wait times, please make your reservation at http://www.massdcrcamping.reserveamerica.com

      1. Group Campsites
      2. Yurts
      3. Cabins
      4. Safari Field at Scusset Beach
      5. Pavilions

Like everyone we are looking forward to camping again.  Recently we considered a trip to Georgia as their state park campgrounds are open, as are ours in Florida. However, for us it's not fully worth the effort yet as we have discovered many of the related facilities that make up a trip for us are not.

Specifically the related visitor centers, museums, and historic places within or near the parks are not open.  For example our tentative plans brought us close to the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site, it's still closed per their website.  Just a heads up when making plans.
