Air8 Specs? Running with generator?

I'm curious to know if anyone has experience running the Air8 with a generator?  If so, what size?

We haven't picked up our Tab 320 yet, and I can't find the Air8 specs online.  So, if someone can post the watts, I could look at generator sizes.

Don't have the manual and don't quote me but believe the Air8 draws 1000W +/- at 6000BTU's. 

Basically, a 2200W Honda or 2000WPredator, or Champion would suffice with a bit left over. There are of course other considerations (amperage, other draws on the system, etc)

Again, just top of my head on this but its a place to start.

Our 2250W generator easily runs our Air8.  Specs in our manual says Operating Current is 9 amps; power consumption is 900 watts.  It lists a starting current of 15 amps, but it never taxed the generator.

Pretty remarkable that it draws less thelan the 3 way fridge draws on DC.

Following this thread as we have a new 2021 T@B 400 on order and looking to purchase a generator. We previously had a WEN 2000, which worked really well with our T@G Max XL, but we included it in the sale of our T@G. We'll most likely go with the WEN again, but not 100% sure it will run the AC. I've read posts where it might be enough power and others saying they use two generator in parallel. The WEN now makes a 2250, then jumps up to a 3800. Thanks for any input..

The 2250 should work.  Other have used a Honda 2200i style generator with success.

A 2250W genset should be more than sufficient to run the Cat but check the specs on the Cat to be sure. Start up can spike to higher amps. I'd make sure all 110V systems are shut down in the rig before you crank up the genset.

Doing a little research lately. If you are a member of a very popular RV club that partners with a very popular camping retail store, they have marked down the Champion 3500 Dual Fuel, electric start inverter/generator over $300 to basically same price as Honda 2200i. It's a bit heavy (95lbs) but does have wheels and a tow handle. Most very good reviews on line. Will run 15K BTU A/C so plenty of reserve.
