yeah, it's part of the air conditioning... :)    the slight (to me, not the other party ) needs to be fixed. In looking at the mesh cover and ring with a finger tab, is there a trick to taking that off? I have been rotating and pulling to no avail...any tricks to get it off in one piece?

    I think you mean the screen for the Fantastic Fan? You have to pull really hard.and you feel like you will break it, but you won't. 

    I wonder if it you have a loose screw in the fan or if it needs a bit of oil?

    If, like me, you are too chicken to "try harder" then a little gentle coaxing with a screwdriver or other small pry bar helps. Once you get the first tab to let go the rest are easier.

    It took me four years to finally pop my screen off. If you are really chicken just set the fan to blow out on high for a few seconds and that will clear most of the crud.  :-)
