Prodigy RF brake controller inoperable - Resolved

I am posting this in case it helps someone else later.

I have a 2017 T@B Q and last week the Prodigy wireless brake controller would not connect to the brakes but was paired to the Blue Tooth

Just needed to replace the power fuse in my car that is for the 7 way pin And it connects right away

the prodigy controller uses RF signal.   what do you mean by bluetooth?    
your 7pin connector would need to have power running to it for it to work.    so if there was no power coming out from it then the controller cannot receive power.

@lino - thanks for this.  We don’t consider the fuse on the charge line for the 7 pin.  What did you see on the hand-held device to give you a clue that it was not working?

The Prodigy controller device had the “n.c” error message because the brake line did not have power from my 7 pin on the tow vehicle

The prodigy controller I believe but could be mistaken links to the trailer brake via Bluetooth to control the actual brakes once it has power

Thanks - n.c. - not connected.

The controller connects to the brake module via radio frequency, not Bluetooth.

Yes, it does use radio, not Bluetooth, which this and along with a dedicated I. TV wireless ( radio) controller is the advantage over the Kurt Exho, which is Bluetooth controlled via a smart phone app.

I can't get my Prodigy RF Wireless Brake Controller to pair.  It's suppose to show 00 after you brake and mine doesn't.  I just got the 7 pin installed and brake lights and turn signals work fine on the TV and trailer.

Do you have the 12VDC charging line/pin working?  The Prodigy Wireless uses this connection for power.

@MichiganSunshine - are you sure a charge wire was installed as part of the 7 pin?

I'm not sure.  The added a ground wire and then a converter.  Maybe not because it didn't seem like my battery charged up either after towing.  (note:  I've only been on one trip and I'm a newbie)

Easy test for a charge wire:

Turn off your battery switch and plug in the tow vehicle to the TaB.  Crank the engine. Turn on a light in your T@B.  If the light comes on you have a charge line.
