Do you mean the Red Connection Failure? Try turning off the Alde at the control panel, turn off the other appliances, too. Then unplug the TaB from 120v. Then go under the driver side bench, open the top of the Alde. Remove the cable that inserts between the 2 green fuse holders. Wait 5 minutes. Plug the cable back into the Alde. Plug back into shorepower. Turn on the Alde.
Overheat red fail is a fairly common Alde error. The solution is the same: reset the 12v power for the Alde. Some apparently have reset the 12v by turning off the Alde control panel, then turning off the battery switch, and waiting a few minutes. If that does not reset it, just follow the instructions in the post above.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I simply followed pthomas745 instructions and away went the “overheat red fail” message. Only took 5 minutes! We are now camping in Idaho with temperatures plummeting this evening. Hope to enjoy the Alde heating system this evening. Truly grateful! Trekon
Old thread, but wanted to add a thank you. On our third night of boondocking (also first time out with our TaB) we ran the battery dry. We hooked up to our (running) TV to recharge, but got the OVERHEAT RED FAIL error. Searching we found a lot of complicated fixes that didn’t work. Disconnecting from the TV and turning the battery switch off and back on did the trick.
