sewer hose storage tube: broken end cap

Looking for a solution to a broken end cap: My 2014 320 S has the same storage tube as this photo from an old post of @Verna. The end cap (shown on the ground) broke and I only have 1 of the pieces. 
I thought of replacing it with a rubber drain cap, but there's no clearance for the outer flange and flat metal band to secure it. 
Can you get replacement caps for the original tube or can anyone think of a substitute? 
Should I just replace the entire tube?

I would do some Googling because this part has surely been broken by others. I bought mine at Camping World, by the way.

Maybe something like this expandable plug.  I don't know what size you need or what sizes are available.  Just a general idea.
