Water Pump Not Working after Sanitization Process

Hi all - very excited new T@B 320S owner here! This forum is so helpful and we have learned tons of critical information from you all - thank you! We unfortunately seem to have run into an issue with our water pump after taking the appropriate steps in the sanitization process that several of you have helpfully outlined. We were successful in flushing the system of the bleach solution and one full tank of fresh water using the water pump and running the faucets dry. As the instructions suggested we filled the tank again and went to flush it in dry camp mode with the water pump the second time and unfortunately now the faucets don’t run water. Battery is fully charged, grey tank is empty, system appears to work fine on city water hookup.

Any ideas? Dealer didn’t have any, we may be destined to make a visit....

Check the pump fuse.  The water pump is not designed to run continuously while you empty a 10 to 20 gallon tank.  You run bleach solution and later fresh water through the faucets for a minute or two to flush out the lines, then drain the rest with the fresh water tank drain under the trailer, and low point drains in the Nautilus compartment.  You also do not need to completely fill the fresh water tank with the bleach solution, 5 or so gallons is more than enough to do the job.  Hopefully the fuse went, and not the pump.

Thank you @Denny16 !!! That’s great to know for next time - the directions we read made it seem like we needed to drain the whole tank thru the faucets, next time we will only do a few minutes! The fuse is a good thought - I should also have said that we can hear a little hum from the pump when we flip the switch. Would that be the case if the fuse went?

No, sounds like the pump has been damaged :s  The humming means it is getting power, but the motor is not turning.  You could try giving it a tap whilst it is turned on, to see if the impeller may be just stuck?

Yes, you should contact your nüCamp dealer, and ask for a warranty repair.  Good luck.

Those pumps are suppose to be self priming, but that’s not always the case. They can’t pump air very well. If there is no water in the pump they are not very loud and you may just here a hum. I would locate the pump and check the filter to see if it has water in it. If not unscrew the hose on the in side usually the left side. Try sucking water from that hose. If you can draw water reattach it and try again. You can also try sucking water from the out side usually on the right.

Also, check the pump filter for debris.

Sounds like pump is gone.  They’re easily available but not replaceable.  You’ll need someone with very long and skinny arms.  It sounds like the pump motor just gave up.  Also make sure you only used a couple drops of bleach or you’ll take out the seals also.
