Has anyone with a window ac unit in the Tab, used a wireless thermostat plug?

Hello everyone. I just completed the fantastic fan PWM installation, courtesy of my handy neighbor. My wife always complains the ac unit which has no thermostat, is loud and keeps running without stopping, leading to cold nights, certainly a plus on a hot evening. BUT, Amazon has a lot of these plugs that had wireless thermostats. So, the theory is you plug the device into the outlet, then plug the ac unit plug into the thermostatic plug. Then you have a wireless controller that you can set the internal temp, and I guess it cuts the power when the temp is reached, or turns it on, when it needs to maintain the temp. Anyone explore this outside of possibly finding a 5000 btu ac unit that already has that thermostat built in? Thank you for your thoughts. Mark

As long as it can support the amp draw and wattage it would seem to work. Is there enough room at the outlet to fit it in?
It will be a hard start each time the A/C starts up, so it may be noisy.
I thought the unit in my 2016 320 had some sort of temp control. We haven't used the A/C other than to test it in the driveway so I'm not 100% sure if it has a control or not.
Now you've got me thinking and I'll have to check when I get home.2006 RAM 1500 4 door, 2016 T@B 320 MAX S

This in theory would work, I use a similar setup with a wired 110VAC thermostat connected to the heater outlet. But this just goes off and on, which is fine for the heater. An window air conditioner however, has a compressor and fan which must start every time the AC is turned on (hard start). Which takes more energy, and creates more wear on the AC unit.
An AC built in thermostat just cycles the compressor, leaving the fan blower on a separate sensor setting which cycles the fan once the cold air from the compressor is shifted. The two motors are controlled separately in most units. Some AC units may leave the compressor running in a low setting, and just cycle the fan to control the temp setting in the area being cooled.

Thank you. Can I ask if anyone out there changed their AC unit to one that has a thermostat internally, that fit the opening and drained without issue? I would love to keep my wife happy.

Thank you Sharon. It seems the attachments no longer appear to be visible though, and that could be helpful. Maybe the best it a new ac with the built in thermostat. The Frigidaire 5000 btu is available at HD, it seems.

Bought the 5000 btu Frigidaire with built in thermostat from Home Depot. Will see how it goes.
