Front window fell out!

does anyone know if the window tension bars are what actually keep the windows in place? The little clip broke off on ours and I’m trying to figure out if that is why the whole front window just fell out or if the two were unrelated? I’ve reseated the window in the groove above it and it’s unclear if that’s all it takes

No they don't hold the window up. There is a hinge at the top that holds the window in place.

@RayJim in your picture above is the window out of the hinge? Meaning the clear hooked plastic piece goes into the aluminum groove on the trailer?

Yes the clear plastic on the window is attached to the aluminum groove in the picture. To mount a window initially, you must slide out (detach) the aluminum rail with the hook in it from the trailer. Once it is removed you then attach it to the window. Then you slide window with aluminum rail attached back on to the trailer. The small screw on the right in the picture is removed and it enables you to slide out the aluminum rail.

I'm trying to decipher whether or not I have to order a whole new window because the top rail lifts out or is there something I could fabricate in order to hold it in place in the track. Unfortunately, these pics aren't really clear to me as to what I'm looking for.  @RayJim? Anyone?? TIA

interesting to find your post since my back window just fell out last weekend!! The extension arms are all that kept it crashing to the ground. I had inadvertently lifted up on the top of the window as I was opening it. I was quickly and easily able to get it back in the upper track even from the inside, but panicked me at first! I realized also that its the emergency escape window, so obviously its not going to be bolted in hard.

I've been dealing with this issue for over a year now, trust me it's not supposed to come out of the hinge. If you don't catch it the next time its comes out of the hinge their is a possibility It will break the extension arms and the entire window will crash on to the floor.

I'm not aware of any fix for the window to stop it from detaching from the hinge. I am on my 3rd front and back window. Will see how these windows hold up and post if the recommended fix works. I don't know what the fix is, I will find out when I go to the dealership to have them replaced.

Your looking for visible damage on the ends or a gap of more than 6mm.

This is who I contacted about my falling out front window. http://transatlanticprod.com/ It falls out of the track on the passenger's side when I'm opening it. I think my front window is warped ever so slightly. Visually it looks fine. A friend helped me remove it and we inspected it and it looks fine to the eye. I went to another T@B owner's home and looked at her window and tried to see what was different. I thought I was missing the end caps which I realized later, I wasn't. When I contacted their customer service, they sent me the end caps and told me they'd work with me to figure out which parts needed replacing and sent me some pics of measurements for the window and track. So far, I'm still dealing with a front window that will fall out of the track when I open it but I think I may only need to order part of the assembly (the window itself without the stays) where I've been told the dealer will only order you the full assembly.

@Sharon_is_SAM I'm still searching for answers to my window issue. I'd hate to buy a new window until I figure out which parts actually need replacing. I've recently added what my research has found, along with pictures.

@RayJim the problem I'm having is there's no visible damage and the measurement shows no more of a gap.

@RayJim do you know if I can get a new plastic piece for the front window. My plastic piece is cracked and doesn't hold the window in place anymore.
    Thanks

They have upgraded the windows to a metal hinge, when ordering windows make sure they are the upgraded version. I am having the front and back replaced with the upgraded windows next weekend. As far as I know there is no fix once the widow is damaged, the acrylic hinge is not repairable.

Mine has always been loose when open. The locking latches were misaligned from the factory so they barely contact and hold it closed on one side. I just don't open it any more.

So does anyone know in 2025 what it cost to do the full front window replacement in a tab 320? Ours is a 2019. It fell out of the camper a couple years ago and Dana at Missouri teardrop replaced it. As far as I'm concerned, if I could just get it to stay in place, I would never open the front window again. I don't care. But we were just putting the window in open lock and the dang thing fell out again. Grrrrrrrrr

Getting closer to a solution. @ReenieG or anyone, can you please tell me exactly where the sticker is on the window? Dan at Trans Atlantic asked for a photo of the sticker on the window, but I haven’t taken the window back off yet. I’m afraid I won’t get it back on the track since it’s broken on the top. Thought I would figure it out before I jump in. It’s like 5°f here and very windy. I want to be snappy when I take the pic.

Look what you showed up on my doorstep! Man that was super fast. They told us it would be March but it is here. Hopefully it’s the right window. I haven’t opened it yet but it’s 60° today so this is the perfect time to try it. Just so you know, they covered it completely and it dropped shipped from the manufacturer. There was absolutely no cost to us, even though it was beyond the normal warranty. But they’ve had enough problems with it that they took care of it.

@ColleenD2 glad you got it sorted. NuCamp replaced my  2019 front window a few years back for a defect and I was second owner. It was very quick.

Holy smokes! This was one of the hardest things we’ve ever done. It took about 90 minutes. It didn’t come with any instructions and getting it in the slot was REALLY hard. It also took me about an hour to pry the wooden crate open before we started.

We called and spoke to an engineer at the distributor and they sent us a video showing one being taken out but it gives you some idea what to do. You have to remove the set screw and slide the track out and to the right then mount the window in the track and sliiiiiide it back in. VERY hard to line it up to get it in place, even with two people. Thankfully we have a Boondock model so that gave us a platform to stand on.

I am proud of myself for solving this from the starting problem to finish, that’s for sure! This window is working better than either of our other two. Dana at Missouri teardrop replaced ours a few years ago. The left piston never worked though so the window was held up with the right only.

Well Done!  I've got a replacement 400 front window sitting in my garage waiting for better weather to replace.  This one requires replacing the hinge mount on the trailer and drilling holes...
