@Sharon_is_SAM, is this the weird spacing problem that you're working on with Vanilla? (seems to happen after specifically the very-last-in-the-posting html code - like italic or bold or a link to a user - note the line-feed or Break after the bolded word)
Interesting that in this case the carriage return did not occur after "@Sharon_is_SAM" but it did happen in the next comment--but it doesn't happen when that comment is quoted:
@ChanW - we were seeing large empty gaps underneath the body of a text post. We were also seeing a space after “calling” someone using the @. Your example of the text skipping down a line is a new one. Geeze - what next! Here we go again!
The large multi-line gaps seem to be another problem--maybe related, maybe not.

FWIW maybe this ought to be cc'd to a new general comment thread for others to see? Just saying...
@Sharon_is_SAM, some testing showed that it only happens after the very last "special" character encoding in the posting... That is, where I italicized above, it doesn't happen, because I'm bolding this phrase. If I were to then use your 'at' handle right here, it would not happen after the bolded, but after your 'at' handle. Does this make sense?
