Porthole window service

I have a Tab400 that I purchase used last year.  Looks like previous owner used silicone sealer around port-hole windows, which looks to be less than good quality.  I am looking to correct this potential leak issue and wondering if anyone has removed and replaced one of these windows.  I am concerned about the degree of difficulty and whether or not I should have this work done by a dealer.  Can anyone give me some insight on this?

If you can remove the silicone and the window is fine, just apply some geocel 2300 sealant (that's what nucamp uses). It's really sticky so use mineral spirits and a finger to tool it.

Now if you're removing the entire window I think it's being held on with butyl tape or some other kind of adhesive sealant tape. Use a plastic putty knife to break that seal.

Thanks manyman!  I have elected to have this checked out by a dealer.
