Sorry, I thought about that after I posted. Some campgrounds that we have been to only have a sewer hookup at the sites and not a formal dump station. I don't like having to switch the hoses back and forth at a campsite. Just not sanitary IMHO. This way you can dump both tanks and give them a good flush and minimize the dripping.

So your trailer has a separate gray and black tank discharge point? Most (newer TaBs since 2018) TaBs have a combined outlet, so one sewer hose connection for both black and gray tanks, I think this is part of the confusion here (for some owners of newer trailers), but your solution is good for older TaBs and any RV with separate discharge connections.
