Shims for window latches?

I am needing to add shims of some kind to several striker plates to raise them so window latches will click into the slots & hold window closed properly.  What would work for shims and then will I need slightly longer screws to tighten down the striker plates?

So how would washers work when you have to put them under the striker plate then  screw the striker plate back down into window frame?  Wouldn’t the screws hit the metal washers?

A few years ago, Nucamp sent me some shims for that very issue.  I'd  suggest you contact them.  It did the trick.

What kind of material were the shims?  Metal rubber plastic? Approximately what size?  Did you have to run the screws through the new shim material?

I can't  quite remember the composition of the shims, but seems like it was a plastic or composite.  Not sure if they sent longer screws or not.  But here's how it looks now:

You put flat washers under the plate to raise it when screwed down.

New to the forum and just discovered this thread. Three (3) of my front window latches do not engage due to the striker being to low. It appears the original owner had NuCamp add shims but as you can see below, more are needed since I can only achieve the first position. Have others experienced this issue? Unless the window is warped (doesn't appear so) I can't see why so many shims are needed... Thanks

Sorry, I am a newbie! Can anyone tell me why my signature information (below the picture} is double spaced? I entered this information under, "Edit profile", "signature" but as you can see, it is double spaced... Thanks...

@Mcbret - is it possible the handle is mounted too high on the window?  We need pictures and measurements from other owners.  Also, I wonder if they substituted the latches?

Regarding the double spacing:  it has been a problem with the Vanilla platform not playing nice with certain browsers, devices?.. @Scottg knows more.  I will see if I can fix it.  (Edit - I tried.  I can’t tell if it changed anything here on my iPad.  If not, try using a single line format like my signature.)

I'm looking at it now on my PC, and your signature lines are appearing a properly single-spaced. Let me know if you are still encountering issues and we'll dig a little deeper.

Well, I didn't actually do anything so can't take any credit! Glad it's fixed, though--maybe something got tweaked on Vanilla's end.
The software has an odd quirk where messages typed in Firefox get extra spaces inserted when they are displayed on the forum. I usually work around it by either not double-spacing my comments, or by editing the html code. First world problems, either way!  :-)

    Thanks ScottG,
I was a programmer and EE for many years. I am now retired and don't want to program anymore... Now, I just use the software as it comes.... :)

I took more pictures of the front window latches.
Right latch: A shim or two will solve the the problem I believe.
Right-bottom locking latch - Still a puzzle. It will need at least another shim and longer screws. The latch handle seems to be ok and unaltered. However, with two shims already in place, it still does not make contact. Not sure how it could have left the factory this way... Sorry, as I said, I was an Engineer in a production environment and we had all kind of processes in place to ensure delivered quality.
    Left latch: OK.
Left bottom locking latch: Requires shims as well since it will not allow the handle to engage properly.

As far as the mounts to the window, It doesn't appear they can be adjusted other than shims.  I submitted a service request to NuCamp and I guess we will sort it out there...
    Thanks to all!!

Same issue.  Shims, longer upsized screws.  Nucamp doesn't predrill or accurately measure/template fasteners, and wildly overdrives/strips them with impact guns and wrong screw bits.
I have found myriad uses for 1/8 inch x12x12 ABS sheet material to make up shims, backplates, flip down l.e.d. nighttime covers, and more.
