Awning for 320 from All Pro Adventures - design flaw

Hi there - I bought this awning.  When I installed it, found out the camper door cannot be put in the full open position.  This is cause the forward support pole, AND the upper canvas, both will be hot by the door.  I called All Pro service and found out that is the design.  Tech said “everyone knows about this”.   I didn’t and I suggested they make this clear on their website, and really find a solution to this issue.  He just said thanks and hung up.  I left a review on their site, but they are not showing it.  They still say they have a perfect 19 of 19 reviews saying they are 5/5.  No true - sleezy.  But they really need to fix this. Otherwise it’s a nice awning.

I see your frustration, but I'm not sure exactly how you envision this being "fixed." This is a small camper, and space is constrained by the size of the door and the position of the keder rail. I have the exact same issue with my PahaQue awning.
Some owners have fashioned extended retainer clips for the door to hold it out further. I just use a light bungee cord that gently holds the door open as far as it can go when the awning is in place. It's worked fine for ten years. YMMV.

The awning follows the shape of the camper roof. When the door is opened, the door extends past the roofline. Thus, the only way to "fix" it is to get an awning that doesn't follow the shape of the trailer roof.
I have an old-fashioned square awning, but you'll notice that it doesn't provide the same amount of coverage as the All Pro awning because it's smaller. The old small visor awning (no longer available, I think) also didn't interfere with the door. But again, it doesn't provide the same amount of cover.

If I were to design a fix, I’d simply move the forward support forward, and I would cut\sew an opening in the canvas.  Doesn’t seem hard, just time and sewing skills (which I don’t have).   I’ll give it a shot when I get some free time.

    Hi,

Yes all the All Pro tents  including the Walker Tent (which he have) suffer from this issue as others have stated.  Most people use a bungee or small piece of cord with a loop for the door handle to keep it open.  I do  agree they should disclose the interference issue as it may sway a consumer to look at other tent options.

I'm not so sure I'd want to cut an opening in the awning I depend upon for weather protection, just so I can open the door all the way. Again, YMMV.

Just hook the door handle to the end of a bungee and run the bungee through the handle on the front of the TaB.  Just be aware that wind will move the door and cause wear on the fabric.

So tired of babying the Pahaque 400's visor. We keep having the Pahaque fiberglass elastic poles splinter even though we are only putting up the visor while we sit under it in perfect sunny, no wind weather. Ugh. Want all strong aluminum solution.

Many of us simply fabricate a metal rod to keep the awning/visor from rubbing on the top of the door.
