I'm thinking about ripping the bathroom door vertically and hinging those two panels so that they fold and take less space when the door is open. That would allow my dog water bowl to be in the bathroom where my dog could have free access to it and dribbles are easier to clean up.
Also, I would expect to change the existing hinges to facilitate this. Has anyone done something like this?
I'd appreciate any feedback or experience you have with changes to that door.

Replaced with ss piano hinge and also found the opening was built out of square. The hinges were wobbly and underfit.
Making your door a bifold is an interesting idea. Does the opening have a bottom lip that a folded door will hit?
The door seems to be a plastic composite material and does not hold screws strongly. Soss hinges routed into door edges would do a nice job but again I'd be concerned about screw holding power.
You'll need an astragal on interior to seal the joint and prevent shower splashing to outside. A piece of white pvc trim ripped, glued with construction adhesive and screwed with countersunk flathead ss wood screws would work.
Make up a test with some scrap plywood and pair of hinges to test clearances before you rip the door panel.
Let us know what you come up with.
