New T@B upgrades

Just picked up our 2017 T@B MAX S. They made some changes to her. They are using a new 3 way frig, (still Norcold) no more vents in front, two on the side now and no more aux fan. For those buying new hinges for the overhead cabinets, they now stay open by themselves. And most important, it still fits in our garage Can't wait for T@Bazona

Do the cabinets stay open because the hinges are spring-loaded and hold them open, or do they have some kind of struts or stays?  Could you post a picture?  We have a 2017 T@b MAX S Outback, and are not happy with the hinge-strut combination, which caused the hinges to pop out.  We contacted PV/NuCamp, and they told us to glue the hinges in; if that didn't fix the problem they said they would send us new doors. If they have changed the hinges and corrected the problem, I think we'll ask for new doors.

They have struts that hold them open, probably small springs inside.

Pics and model number for the new Norcold would be nice.  Does it have a freezer?

No freezer. Model is N180.3

Just guessing - model N180.3?  If so, it is a 1.8 cu ft fridge versus a 1.7 cu ft that came on ours.  Also setup for right side venting versus the dual front and side venting of the model 323.

Yes venting is on right side thru 2 new removable rectangular vents

Wonder if the burn box and thermocouple are easier to get to. On mine they are in the far back left corner.

Notice the gray left side access panel is gone with the new unit.  Must mean the burn box and thermocouple are in a new location.  Hmmmmmm?

I wonder if the Tab door being wide open will interfere with venting.

I removed the fascia on an old one and added birch veneer on a two way.  I would assume that this could be done on other older models.  
But losing the access panel on the new one is much nicer looking than other 3 ways.

Can't tell from Rolling B's photo if that black access panel is fitted with a wood veneer to match the door fascia.  Also, I wonder what the third rotary knob is for?  Even with moving the working parts to the right, I can still see an advantage to having an exhaust fan on the upper vent grill.  Much cleaner visual having the front two exhaust vents eliminated.  Hard to tell from the photo above, but did this new position eliminate the need for the cooling fan under the coils?

Your Norcold link mentions the "insert panel door to match interior"

The knobs are 1 select ac,dc gas. 2 ac thermostat, 3 gas thermostat.

The lower vent opens up right at burner level and they use twist latches just like the bigger trailers.

RollingBnB - Ok then, that solves the problem with the current fridge where you have to take the dang thing out. A real pain.

I imagine the dual vents work on convection alone (no exterior fan needed).

Here's a quick and dirty screen grab from a dealer video.  I really like the new matching door panel insert, I saw it in person the other week.  Looks sharp.  The side remains black.

It appears to me that Norcold has addressed some of this issues folks have been having with this model 3-way. It will be interesting to see how it works after a good time frame in use. I really like the fact that the workings are much more accessible through the outside removable vent covers.

Very nice!! Is that a table bracket to the left of the door? If so, did you order that as an extra?

The dealer we ordered from does a complete package, the only extra we asked for was the porthole window in the bathroom and there was no charge.

I just ordered the Tab Basic S and asked for the same access panel $395 and lagun table bracket $125 I think...sounds like you dealer has put together a nice package of extras.

We thought so too. U need to fix your delivery date in your sig. Can a CRV tow 2k lbs?
