But first had to make it to Capital Reef via a little detour to Green River, UT. Alternator went out on Friday afternoon near Hite, UT. NAPA in Green River was able to get an alternator the next morning (Saturday). I spent Saturday morning installing then back on the road 4 hours later. Wife is getting ready for a little bike ride as I repair. My Scangauge II allowed me to monitor TV battery voltage. Was getting nervous as the battery voltage was getting near 11.5V. Hmm? wonder what voltage the fuel pump, EFI, etc decides to shut down? Yes, battery shut off switch on trailer and all unnecessary power off in TV.
TinMT... that looks beautiful, however a wee c.c..ccold for me. PXL.. the 4-letter word starts with an "S" and ends in "W". Don't say it too loud though.

And here was Jenn thinking how it looked p.p.p. perfect!

Sitting in Moab doing laundry and restocking. This place is a zoo already. Anyone have some good boondocking sites in the area? Checked out a few and they were overrun with ATVs. Probably flee in the morning unless somebody has something. Edit-Add: Best Verizon cell/data connection I've ever seen - 5-bars, LTE. Seven miles out of town (still in the valley) I've got 1-bar and the booster doesn't help. Had good coverage in Arches camoground last year. Canyonland is deadsville.
PXLated - you may want to go down Beef Basin just a little way (38.083749, -109.568488). The road will be tight but you may find a pull out to squeeze into once you get into the Pinion/Juniper vegetation. The upper part of the road follows a canyon. It leads down into Bobby's Hole (you will not get through this, not even in a stock jeep with no trailer) and back up to Elephant Hill. The road is frequented by expedition vehicles going into Canyonlands the back way.
Near the turn-off from the main road are some open areas to camp but may be busy with the big RV/trailers.
source3 - Funny, just came from down there a couple days ago - Didn't stay in that campground but checked it out as well as all the others up to the NP - Stayed one night in Superbowl and the moved up to dispersed by Hamburger Rock. Not overrun with UTVs like hear in the Moab area.
I had an audience tonight. Had to backup and thread through some trees to the new campsite (one that wasn't flooded).
New campsite: The story starts off...
.....There I wuz...... 3:30am and had to take the camper early this morning to get some warranty thing done on it. I looked outside to the pond that WAS a real campsite when I parked there the evening prior to the all-night rain *sleepy blinkblinks* "No worries! I have a 4x4 pickup", I mumble ... FAMOUS LAST WORDS!
I think my truck's new name is mudmonster and his buddy's name, mudT@Bmonster. Of course, I'm the mudmama now!
Oh, and many thanks to the anonymous camper with the proper tow strap and tug out of the mud pit. No, I didn't take picts. I was still non-functioning pre-coffee! So technically, the mud incident didn't happen, right?
