In addition to the stove in the T@B, we carry a two-burner propane camp stove for use outside. The stove has two shortcomings: 1) we rarely need two burners; and 2) the individual burners are too small to properly heat a cast iron fry pan or a small paella pan. I'd like to swap the current stove for a larger capacity (but still compact) single burner model, but my preliminary searches haven't revealed the right item. Any suggestions?
We are also considering moving some of the outdoor cooking tasks to the grill (Weber Q). Does anyone have experience with the griddle, roasting rack, or roasting shield made specifically for the Q?
Thanks in advance for any insight you camp chefs can offer!

I actually returned this model because it was too large:

That looks like just the sort of thing I had in mind. Was it too large size-wise, or too large in the sense you couldn't turn the heat down low enough (or both)?

@ScottG I just ordered the Weber Q 1200 and it seems the roasting shields for that model have been discontinued. It's also very hard to find the roasting rack for the 1200. Amazon has a wait of about 4 weeks. I'm wondering if that is being discontinued also. I'll probably end up just using some heavy duty aluminum foil and find a rack that will match up with the grill surface. Additional note: I did see some good ideas on PXL's thread about baking with the Q.

We use a Skottle made by Tembo Tusk and a webber Q. The 2 burners inside only heat coffee. Packs nice in supplied bag, works great. -
I use the griddle for the Q1200. It is wonderful. I use it for traditional things like pancakes and hashbrowns, but also as a base on top of the regular grill plate for baking. I add an upside down pan on top of it (or my wok support) and then put my cake/pie pan on top of it. Perfect baking.Red and White, 2017 Max S being towed by a 2014 Honda Ridgeline. Hello Mountains!

Glad to hear you like the griddle. We did pull the trigger on one for our Q100 (smaller model), but have only used it on one trip so far. Sounds like it will prove to be a good investment.
A note to those with older Q's that have a one-piece grate... The griddle is designed to replace half of the grate. Using it on top of the grate prevents the lid from closing properly, and may increase the time it takes for the griddle to heat up. You will need to purchase the newer two-piece grate (more than doubling the cost of the project), or be prepared to cut and modify your existing grate so that one half can be removed.

We use this single burner and a Q1200.

I've eyeballed those--or at least ones that are similar. I like the fact that you can run that one on propane, as I don't want to get into carrying yet another type of fuel canister.
Do you know what the BTU output is when using propane?
