Weird water issue

We were staying at Signal Mountain campground in the Tetons a few days ago. The temps were going to dip below freezing so I went on & blew out the water lines (with pressure regulator), dumped tanks, & poured rv antifreeze down drains. When I blew out the lines I opened up cold & hot on the shower & sink. Blew until no water came out. No water has been hooked back up & pump has not been turned on. We were sitting at Grizzly RV Park in West Yellowstone (nice facility, btw) last night & all of a sudden water started coming out of the shower. pump not on, no water hooked up & both faucets off. What's up with that? Anyone had that to happen?

There may have been some residual water in the hand held shower hose. Need to lay the shower head on the bottom of the shower and engage the shower when you are pressurizing. That should help. Or maybe unscrew the shower head and drain the hose that way.

Maybe the Alde heated up the residual water in line and created some pressure, expansion in water line and enough sothat it pushed water out?Mike - Elmira, Mi / 2019 T@B 400 / 2021 Chevy Silverado LTZ

Did you also drain your water heater?2017 T@B 320 Max S silver and cherry red, L@dybug ("Bug" aka my esc@pe pod), TV 2015 Toyota Highlander aka Big Red

No, didn’t drain alde. Should I do that as well or will pressurizing push all
of it out? -
I drain the Alde separately, as it is not at all clear that pressurizing the system forces out all (or any) of the water in the internal tank. Not only do I open the Alde's drain, I make darn sure 2-3 gallons comes out under the camper.SGH0004 said:No, didn’t drain alde. Should I do that as well or will pressurizing push all

Unfortunately the Alde had no way to visually check the level in the tank, so I'm pretty particular about the last part. I'm pretty sure the Alde wouldn't fare too well with a block of ice inside it! :-)2015 T@B Max S (320)

@ScottG Thanks for the advice.

The Alde hot water tank needs to be drained, there are two valves near it that can be opened to do this. Small lines and it takes quite a while for the water to stop. It is a steel tank so it could rupture if it froze.2014 T@B M@XS; 2017 Ford Transit Low Roof, Reg. Wheel Base

@KBaggins1, I know about the yellow flapper valve, but what's the second valve you refer to? I only seem to have the one.2015 T@B Max S (320)

There is a valve on the cold water line(blue fittings) that feeds water in to the Alde tank that pulls straight up and will drain that line. On our T@B it is a few inches away from the yellow flapper valve. Ours is a 2014 maybe that valve is not on newer models?2014 T@B M@XS; 2017 Ford Transit Low Roof, Reg. Wheel Base

Nope, I definitely don't have that one on my 2015. I wonder they used both, since it seems they serve the same function with regard to draining the Alde HW tank.2015 T@B Max S (320)
