There doesn't appear to be a front grill on the 400. I only have slats in the wood trim panels that are maybe for air return, but no way to access what's behind the panels.
The filter can be accessed by removing the 2 screws holding the drivers side dinet bench seat in place. You will want to have your table in the lower position, or remove it, before sliding the bench seat out, since it is very large and a bit awkward. The filter is right behind the wood slotted vents.

Thanks for the info. What a procedure! A better design would be nice. Wow, you'd think that the manual would give instructions on how to access the filter where it says to clean the filter.
@rbrtm, the filter is not on the air conditioner. It should be on the inside of the bench face. We have a filter there, and we received a spare when we purchased our 400 in April.

Actually there is a better way but it requires a mod. Austin installed this flip access for us allowing us to just lift the seat cushion, open this access and slid the filter out for cleaning. It’s a hinged access door just above the filter assembly. It could be an easy DIY project, easily done by a dealer, or by nüCamp. Eliminates the need to remove cushions, table, screws, and compartment cover and makes cleaning the filter a cinch. Hope this helps!
