New T@B 320 & 400 A/C

A/C on new units have moved.  They will exhaust under the trailer behind the axle.  As we travel, will dust, mud, rocks, etc., be a concern with the under trailer venting screens ?

not sure if the 400 location changed or not.     only time will tell with the 320,  but it certainly will address the condensation draining,  the cold drafts in winter camping, rain and dust blowing in while traveling

Does anyone have a picture or two of the new A/C install location on newer 320's?  Interested if this can be done to "older" 320's as well.

There is a plastic belly pan or cover on the under side of the 400.  Other than small openings, I believe there are only 4 larger openings on the sides of the frame. 2 on either side that will vent out.  Not sure if there are any other provisions to vent the hot air / fresh air for the cool cat. Some of us with the cool cat have used vent diverters to help split the intake air from the exhaust to increase the efficiency of the cool cat.  Don't know how that will work venting through the floor.

Cbusguy@ , the T@B 400 with the 2way fridge has moved the AC for sure (I've seen pictures).  The 3way fridge layout design may or may not have moved the AC (I saw a picture of a unit claiming to be a 2020 without the moved AC and 3 way fridge).

I’m not really excited by the addition of the cool cat to the 320. Mainly because the fresh air “duct” is on the floor. It would have been better if they had ducted it up high in the space.  Cold air sinks, hot air rises...also, the trade off in storage space is not equal, imho.

    Fully Agree.
One of the Pluses for me in selecting a T@B 320 was the wall mounted AC.
    Another the light colored cabinets.

the cool cat works alot better than the wall mounted ac. What remains to be seen is if the location of the vents works well when sleeping. Gets hot in the Texas Hill country

Agree. The wall mounted AC's seem to lost the battle as the mercury exceeds 90 degrees in full sun. Cool Cat owners have never had that complaint.

The Cool Cat comes in 2 sizes.  10500 and 13500 btu.  Our 2018 has the 10500 and it works great in our 400.  We do run the fan with the A/C constantly so that we do not notice that the cool cat cycles frequently.  Plus with the fan always on it keeps the cabin temp moderated well.  Our 320 had the cool cat and never any problem keeping cool in the hot Oklahoma weather.  We also seek a shaded spot to camp when possible. The large sloping back and window of the 400 does heat the cabin quickly in the summer.
