Canopy on lightning deal

Just ordered this canopy for my 320 on amazon lightning deal, and thought I would pass along the link:

It appears to work, but won't know till this weekend. It slides into the keder rail perfectly but the length of the awning from trailer to the poles may be a little long. I'll take photo's when we get it all set up. It may need some tweaking to make it work without to much work. Cause I don't like to work when I camp

Good idea! Let me know how it goes with the keder rope. I purchased the kayak suction cups for $15, and will try to stick them to the roof. We’ll see how that goes.

I'm excited to see how it works. It was really easy to sew the fabric onto the keder rope so don't be afraid to try it. I expected it to break the needle, but it didn't. We will be stopping by Cabela's to pick up some adjustable poles (4 or 6) vs the poles (2) that came with the awning. We will also need to put a few grommets in because we are attaching it backwards from what the photo shows on Amazon. You'll see what I mean once the pictures are posted. It's suppose to rain this weekend so it'll be a great test of it. More to come . . .

Sorry for the delay. When we set up the canopy at camp it didn't work at all. We couldn't pull it tight enough to get the slack out of it. And I think it's partly due to it being just to long. Anyway, we tried again when we got home and decided that the length of the keder rope is to long. The square of the awning is far to long for the curve of the trailer. Or so that's my thinking. We put less of the keder rope into the keder rail and it did work much better. Not sure what to do from here, but we are weighing our options. 1) just leave it and tie down the white tabs near the trailer and roll them up when more air is needed  2) just cut off the white sections of the awning  3) there are gromets about 2/3 the way away from the trailer, so we could shorten the length of the awning from the trailer to the poles  4) leave the length, insert poles in the gromets that are 2/3 way away and roll it up when there's no room at the campsite

I think the length of that will make it very susceptible to coming down from wind and rain. I would hate to see it happen and have the poles fly back and damage the trailer.

We have a king camp purchased off of Amazon, and it works pretty well with the T@b.  I'd like to use the Keder rail, but it sets up easy enough over the top of the camper.  Having the cargo rack on the rear and the aluminum platform gives lots of attachment options.

Two words of caution, the material is thin, so avoid dragging it on concrete. And also watch where it contacts the front window, in one rainstorm I had it directing water into the window and counter. That was user error!

J&D - I noticed what appears to be black plastic taped over your outside access hatch.  Is there a story here?

@Jackie_Dave you’re on the right track! With my 10x12’ tarp awning I bungee each keder end to a handle using the tarp corner grommet. This keeps it from moving, unless the wind is over 50 mph(big storm last year, held up just fine!) Found that out two nights ago with 50-70mph gusts! I’ve also found with the longer tarp I need to attach a D ring at the keder in the middle and run a taught rope to that middle pole to keep a huge puddle from forming. I still get a puddle on either side but it self empties every so often. Someone used a longer painters pole with a tennis ball in top in the middle, creating a high point, to prevent pooling water. I’m going to try that next. For me 10x12’ is enough to cover a few friends and my little red propane campfire. The heat radiates back down which is nice. Good luck tweaking your project, you’re in the right track!

@Tabaz Yes. We have a leaky gasket in the door. Waiting for a replacement. We had water in the storage compartment and lucky for us it's not the tail light that everyone is having problems with. Just a gasket.

@Homebodyatheart Glad to hear we are on the same track as you and your's is working. We've used the awning before we had our Tab and it seemed to hold up decent enough. But we've not been in high winds with it yet.

Running a rope is a great idea. There's already a grommet in center along the edge of the keder rope. 

We will be camping at Rollins Pond in the Adirondacks at the end of June. No hook ups so the shade will be good.
