    I think the 50 qt ARB goes for around $1000 retail.  Not sure what the Norcold frig costs.  
    I guess I think a lot of design decisions in RVs are scrutinized and ultimately it will come down to cost.

    I'm not sure exactly which Norcold unit they're installing these days, but the NR740 retails for about $860. The 50qt ARB retails for $900, and I'm sure you can get Dometic, Engel or Norcol models for less. So I don't really see the cost of the cooler as being a driving factor. I think there must be something else.

    Maybe the customer consensus has been that they like using a more standard version of a refrigerator as opposed to a frig that looks like a camping cooler.  Also, maybe Norcold gives a serious wholesale deal to manufacturers of RVs.
