Finally got a 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD off-road in cement. Have it towed with it yet got to get to that one thousand mile mark. We have a 2017 tab Outback. I know it doesn't weigh anyting but I'm wondering what people are using 4 hitches and Brake controllers especially in the new Yoda. Also interested in finding out if people are using tow mirrors. I'm so used to having the humongous ones on my Excursion that these tiny mirrors that are on the Yoda scare me. Lol any and all help very appreciated. Happy camping.

Great looking TV! Go to eTrailer.com and put in your vehicle. They will match extension mirrors that will match your vehicle. I have some for my old GMC.2017 820R Retro Toy Hauler from 2015 Tabitha T@B from 2009 Reverse LG Teardrop (but a T@Bluver at heart)

I tow with a full-size Volvo S80 sedan and never needed the mirror extensions, I can see on the sides just fine with out them so I am guessing with your awesome new truck it should be probably even better visibility than my car. I also use a Tekonsha Prodigy wireless brake controller as I didn't want a box under the knee bolster and it is awesome. Probably one of the better brake controllers out there. Another benefit of it is you can use it with any tow vehicle with out having to wire them all up. You just need the 7 pin plug and thats it. They are a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. You can get them on amazon here:Jdcouple said:Finally got a 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD off-road in cement. Have it towed with it yet got to get to that one thousand mile mark. We have a 2017 tab Outback. The box mounts to the tongue of the trailer and you plug the 7 way plug from the trailer into the box, the box has a 7 pin cable that you plug right into your truck or tow vehicle. The hand held controller just plug into a 12v socket, you can set the amount of braking bias you want and it has a manual brake button too you can use to control any sway which rarely happens with these T@bs. -
I don't have a Tacoma, but a similar-sized Frontier with similar mirrors. I've never bothered with extensions--the side view (augmented by my conveniently swiveling head) is fine. If I really want to see right behind me on a straightaway, a little wag of the trailer provides just enough angle to do so (and tends to discourage tailgaters...). YMMV.Backing up can be tricky on the side which the trailer is turning away from, but I'm not sure wider mirrors would offer much improvement in this regard.2015 T@B Max S (320)

I never felt I needed extendable mirrors on my T@B S Max, but they would help with the T@B 400. After my current project is over, I’ll check with the local truck accessory business to have some installed. The thought of heated mirrors.......sounds good. Crossed that 1k mile mark so i got it hooked up last night and pulled it around the block. No mirrors needed. Can see around it fine. I guess I was just used to those big extendable ones off the old X. Lol also installed a DrawTite break controller. And she stoppes like it's not even there.
