Cat door to wet bath in T@B 400

When my wife and I go traveling, we always bring our cats (actually one of the reasons we bought the T@B 400 to travel around the country). We keep the litter box in the wet bath so it's out of the way, but we hate propping the door open all day just for the cats -- it significantly narrows the hallway and makes it harder for the humans to move around. We decided a cat door would be perfect.

I searched the forums for an existing modification to add a cat door to the wet bath but didn't find anything, so my wife suggested making a corner cat door to keep the design simple. I cut the bottom right corner off of the door at 12" on each side and added two small hinges and some magnetic latches to keep it opened and closed. That door size works well for our two small-medium cats (9 lbs.).

For the most part, we keep the cat door open and only close it for privacy when using the toilet or the shower.

You can always re-install a new door from the factory if you ever sell the trailer in the future. Great work around mod for sure!

Oh my what a great solution!! We also have a T@B 400 and thought of taking our elderly cat named The Tuna with us. He is a rather big cat and requires a large litter box. It might be hard stepping over it to use the adult toilet in the middle of the night. Do . you have to move the litter box if you use the human litter box???

We use the Litter Locker, which is a one piece, flexible litter box with two handles that can be brought together at the top and lifted out with one hand.

It's nice because it has really high sides but it's still small enough that we can usually step around it, but lifting it out is still very easy with just one hand.

I'm not sure why it's so hard to find it in the US, probably because there is another product with the same name that is not a litter box at all. The link I gave above is to a Canadian PetSmart, but we bought ours at the local pet supply store.

Oh my, Jilong that is so clever. I have seen beach baskets like that but their sides are much higher. My big old cat The Tuna is about 26 pounds, so I know that would not work. So for now we have such sweet neighbors who are willing to take care of the old man!

@PamHoward, your old man Tuna and my old man Bossman have a lot in common. Boss tipped the scales at 18 lbs and he's on a DIET. I dunno where he's hiding da twinkies, but I have yet to find them!! (psssst, Harvey may be in on it).

I thought of using the under bed storage for the litter box with an access port cut through the front of the bed frame. I don't have my Tab yet so I don't know if there is structure in the way. I like this idea better and it was my intent to use the bathroom initially but thought it would be in the way.

That's where the factory mounts the inverter if you order one. Even without an intverter its a pretty cramped area and probably not enough height to allow a cat to get in the box and do its business.

I keep the front table in the couch position and the cat box underneath-though it is a small-ish box
