Adding outside hot/cold faucets

We are thinking of tapping into the water lines near the driver side wheel wells, the lines to the shower, and adding outside faucets. Anyone done this? I searched but didn't see anything. Other than making sure I don't drill through any framing or some other hidden item any suggestions, do's and don't?

I've never heard of anyone doing this, but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work just fine. With the right fittings you could pretty much tap into the existing PEX lines anywhere you wanted to.

Depending on how you intend to use these faucets, I'd even be inclined to plumb them around to the passenger side for easier access.

To answer your specific question, you might find the sidewall diagrams posted here to be helpful. It appears there is very little hidden framing in the sidewalls that you would need to be concerned about.

@Gaboeh , I am assuming that you want to be able to pull water from your fresh water tank, but when hooked up to the city/campground water system, you can also do something like this without making any modifications to the outside shower plumbing.

I second Bayliss’s suggestion. We have the same Camco faucet and it really comes in handy!
