Roof Vent Cover Won't Stay Closed, anyone else having issues?

On the 2019 400 BDL we have Nucamp installed a 3 speed vent fan that has no latch for the cove.  Our 2018 had a knob operated hook latch but this one does not.  No matter how tight I crank it down it will blow open if there is a 20 mph breeze coming from the side or back.  It also blows opens while we are driving.  Every time we stop I have to go in and close it.  Anyone else having this issue?

I have not noticed a problem--yet.  I would be very interested in your resolution.

I've emailed Nucamp.  Will share what they tell me.

You mean the roof fan? Which fan do you have? Mine has a latch.

Yes, the roof fan, mine does not have a latch.  The one on my 2018 had a latch.  Looks like they downgraded from the good Fantastic fan to a cheaper model without a latch.

Mine does not have a latch.  At least that I have discovered.  Where is the latch?  However, when I crank the lid closed it seems to seal pretty tight.

Interesting; my 2020 does have the latch.  Maybe they had a supply chain issue for a while and you got an alternative?

My 2020 400 BDL has a lock, and a fuse in addition to the open/close, in/out, and speed controls.

Hmm... only three models shown on Dometic's site.
It appears they nixed the latch on the latest 3 speed model and added tabs for their own vent cover.

If that's the case, if I have the tabs I better order their vent cover!

@BigGrover, if you do have the tabs and want to purchase the after-market external Dometic Ultra Breeze cover, you might want to take a look at this thread - - in particular, the info I posted on July 31st.  (Greg)

@Bayliss thanks much, I will be ok with the smoke colored one if my fan has the correct tabs for the 1400.  I just need to find a tall skinny guy who can reach across to push in the rivets!
