Why no auto ignition on stove?

Was looking to possibly replace the stock Dometic stove with one that has an auto ignition feature. From all the photos of 2020 NuCamp models, none appear to have this.  Any ideas why this is? Any other brands available with this option?

My guess is cost savings.  If they are anything like a grill, over time, they break.

@Tabaz , if you remember Chuck and Carol at Why in their small fiberglass camper, they purchased two of the stoves like ours with the auto ignition at Quartsite. The auto ignition went out on one of them within weeks. I can purchase a lot of Bic lighters for the cost of a new stove😉

Hi. Here is a link to the Dometic site. If you scroll down, you will see Model CE99 which looks like the one in our 2016 T@b and it says it has electronic ignition.

I tried buying the CE99, but could not find a retailer in the US. I really like the Dometic sink/stove combo with two glass tops. Could not find that unit available in the US.

This is what we use.  It is rugged, compact and has worked well for many nights camping.  Cliplight Spark-Key Torch Ignitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000NOXDTS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_yCo7Db2Y514B2

Just tried out my new spark device. Sending it back. Takes five to six presses of the button before it ignites the flame. Plus your hand is closer to the flame than with a butane lighter.

The arc lighter that pthomas745 recommends above worked well for us all last season.  Easy to use, nice reach, continuous arc and it worked all season on the original charge.  It's the best solution for the stove lighter we have had yet.

I just noticed a hairline crack in the porcelain that surrounds the metal ignitor on the Spark Key.  Will ask for a replacement and also order the Tack Life above.  May keep the Spark Key as a back-up because it doesn't require fluid or battery recharges.  Having your hand "close" to the flame is not a problem IF the Spark Key ignites on the first attempt.  However,  the longer it takes, the more propane is released and WHOOSH when it is finally ignited.

We use the TackLife and it also works well enough for lighting paper kindling for a camp fire! Charge it once for the season.

By the way, if you are using the TackLife, it evidently emits a high frequency noise when the button is pressed that is heard by my dogs. Both of my dogs cannot leave the room quickly enough when I use it to light a candle.

The new 2020 TaB will have a new stove with an electronic igniter.  That said, the one on my home stove went out after 1-year.  We replaced it with a TacLife igniter, after two years of daily use, going strong.  We got a second one for our TaB400.  These igniters work quite well, and come in two different lengths.
    Cheers

I bought the VERY compact TackLife igniter and have been using it for about a month.  The BEST igniter I've ever used.  No liquid butane or batteries to worry about.  Gets the stove lit on the first try each and every time.  This is the model without the goose neck.
