    There’s a lot of technical information here. Much more than I can understand. I just bought a 2021 T@B 320S with the solar option. I downloaded the Vectron app to my iPhone. Can you tell me in layman’s language what I can do with this app?

    FWIW Victron is going to roll out a shunt that processes battery data and sends it directly to the Victron app. It will be a stand-alone device without a separate display.
    Now THAT'S something I'd be interested in. The display is handy, but you want it in a convenient remote location, it means a wire to run and a hole to drill. I'd rather use the app, which actually brings some nice additional functionality to the table.

    Exactly. I was looking for something like that so I contacted Victron directly to ask them. I'm now in touch with a US dealer who should be getting them in March or April. Will post an update when I get it.

    . . . have installed one of the China shunt style units.  . . .

    Well it Died.
    5 & 7/8th  months into the 6-month warranty.

    Well, it is working again ? ?
    Moved it to my workbench, at first was dead like on T@B; no longer logging total current, stuck in one display mode.  Then it started to work . . . all I really did was attempt to force the firmware to reset to factory setting.  At first it appeared to return to full functional operation, now the BlueTooth won't communicate but seems to be fine over USB cable. {user error on BlueTooth, wrong Channel}

    Now? - - Reinstall on T@B (with USB cable) or . . .

    Like @pthomas745 suggests, binge watching the monitor is a gas... er, electrifying!

    I too put the monitor in a waterproof box inside the battery box.
    Chan - do you have the diamond plate battery tub?  Does having the monitor inside it interfere with the bluetooth signal at all?  Thanks.

    Mine is in a box inside a diamondplate tub.  I usually have to be in line-of-sight or within 15-30 feet of the trailer for it to work.  I don't think the Victrons have a lot of range, anyway, so I'm not sure how much  the tub interferes with the signal.

    Agree about the range. I can check it if I open the window in my house and clean outside with my phone, lol.

    Hot off the presses - https://www.victronenergy.com/blog/2020/03/05/smartshunt-new-product-launch/

    Haven't seen it for sale yet, but it shouldn't be long.

    Yes this is the monitor that I mentioned in my posts above. I’m working with a US dealer to get one as soon as they arrive.

    I just watched an excellent youtube video on someone with a tab 400 showing how to install the victron BMV712. hope to install or have installed this unit, because after using my 2020 Tab 400 on a recent trip I have unknowingly worn my batteries down to dangerous levels. Hmm

    Here's the link to the Youtube on victron controller. But I should say, that now that I figured out how to get the solar controller to work, I don't think I need the more complicated solution
