I plan to install a 2000W inverter in my recently purchased 2018 T@B 320S. Plan to install it the inverter in the cabinet immediately below the sink. Has anyone else done this? Where did you run the cable for the battery? Am agonizing over where to run the 4/0 cable into the trailer. Thanks in advance for help anyone can provide. Pictures of install would be great!

I just installed a 200w inverter inside that space. Ran 10 gauge from the battery. Use it to power the fridge while on the road. I would think 2000w would generate to much heat inside that small space. The gas lines run into the trailer in a small pipe thru the floor. Might be able to squeeze one cable in each. Remove stove to see.

Changed my mind on location of placement inverter after watching this video:

Guy at 6:18 min shows his inverter mod. He locates inverter in space under driver-side forward seat. This placement allows one to drill a hole in the floor to run cables to the battery. This is the approach I have taken. Am 90% done with my install. Will post picks and details when I have time.

P.S. Sent a note to NuCamp customer service asking them where to run cables. Thy replied today saying cables should be run through the floor. Confirms my decision.

Here are details and photos of my final power inverter install:

Inverter: Aims PWRI200012120S 2000 Watt 12V Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter Bundle with Inverter and Remote Switch

Cables used to connect inverter to battery: Crimp Supply Ultra-Flexible Car Battery/Welding Cable - 4/0 Gauge, (10 Feet Red/10 Feet Black) - and 5 Copper Lugs

Battery box used to house two 6V Trojan T-105 deep cycle batteries: NOCO HM426 Dual 6-Volt Commercial Grade Battery Box for Automotive, Marine and RV Batteries

Note: Removed the 12V battery that came with trailer and replaced it the 2 6V batteries (in box). Installed a second propane tank where the factory installed 12V battery was installed.

Pictures of the holes from underneath? It’s been a while since this post was made. The actually question is, I’m assuming you had to remove the undercarriage cover? At least that’s what I see on my 2020 320 BD.

@ste285 welcome to the Forums! This post is pretty old....so old, in fact, the web address for the Forums changed.

I had a search for all the different inverter installs up higher in the thread. It opens with the list of threads, but the url is wrong. To see the threads (if you want) you need to change the url to read vanillacommunity instead of vanillaforums. Make that small change, and the thread should open.

No a 4/0 wire in not required. A friend of mine is an solar engineer I asked him a few weeks for my install what size wire he said #10 in more than enough.

@Kerouac @NovaTab I'd split the difference between the 4X0 and AWG #10 wiring to the inverter. If you have a 2000W inverter with peak draw of 4000W, then 4000/12=333A. Look up any AWG recommended chart and you'll see 0000, as the answer for that current level, with as low as 1/0 or #2 for a very short distance run. Similarly look up many inverter manufacturer recommendations for 2000W models and they'll range from 1/0 to 4/0. I personally ran 1/0 with a huge fuse from my 375Ah bank to my 1500W pure sine wave inverter with 3000W peak (and the camper hasn't caught fire yet).

So I'd say you can likely get by with 1/0 or 2/0 if you don't want to deal with the difficulties in routing the super thick 4/0. Or you can run multiple thinner AWG leads.

However, #10 seems WAY too thin though... except maybe for the cabling from solar panels to MPPT controller if running a serial configuration. Similarly if only pushing 15A or 20A from the controller to the battery bank you can live with #4-#10 depending on the distance of the run.
