Axle weight question. 2021 T@B 400 Boondock Solo

Would anyone know the rated axle weight limit for the 2021 T@B 400 Boondock Solo? I know that NuCamp made a modification to the axle position in the 2021 model. Also, I use a weight distribution hitch with sway bars. I think this might take a little weight of the axle as well.

Not sure, but it should be in the weights sticker on the side of the trailer. Moving the axle didn't change the rating, it just lightened the tongue weight. I believe the 400's have a 3900 pound axle, but not 💯 certain.
Your weight distribution hitch may actually add weight to the trailer axle, you do run possiblity of that.2019 T@B 400 Boondock Lite -
I've read that a WDH is not recommended for my 320, but not sure about the 400. Something about the frame not being able to hold up to the stress. Can anyone clarify this?

@AnOldUR great thread among the many here regarding NuCamps stance on WDH2021 T@B 400 BD / 2020 Ram 1500, Northwest Arkansas

So confused. There are a lot of posts here that contradict that, but from reading that thread, it looks to be safe.USSBird said:@AnOldUR great thread among the many here regarding NuCamps stance on WDHExample of the opposite opinion:Denny16 said:PNWtabber’s load leveling hitch example above, is bad idea on several counts.
First is it stressing the frame...
Second, it is taking some of the weight of the truck and redistributed it to the TaB320 axle, which is not rated for the extra weight.
Third, not really necessary with a small trailer a d a large TV setup like this.

@HowieDewing, according to nüCamp, the axle rating for the 2021 TaB 400 and Solo is the same, “GAWR 3900 lbs (Std) 3900 lbs (Solo). They use the same axle, and moving the axle location does not change is max weight rating, only the net tongue weight, as the balance points ver the axle is changed.

@AnOldUR I dont have the bandwidth to figure out who is right re clamp vs bolt/WDH vs WCH. I am going to stay away from a WDH. My TV has plenty of capacity and shouldn't squat too much with a T@B400. Will consider adding airbags if squat is an issue. This calc was good at comparing WDH vs WCH. https://www.ajdesigner.com/apptrailertow/weightdistributionhitch.php good overview on how WDH work if you scroll to the bottom.

NuCamp does not recommend WDH for 320 or 400. Anti-sway is one thing. But WDH will redistribute GCVW across the entire configuration (TV and you T@B). Thus the name and thus, you will add weight to the T@B axle.
If you are close to GAWR of 3900 for your T@B you run the risk if reach and/or exceeding that...not a good plan for the life cycle of the axle.
With the proper TV capacity and load distribution there is no real need for a WDH.2020 T@B 400 "OTTO" (build date 08/19)

FYI. With our 2020 T@B 400 BD "loaded for bear" including full water tank and gear for a week, we pulled into a closed weigh station. Just the trailer wheels on the scale we came in at 3,250 lbs. Always interesting to see what my "actual" weight is!2020 T@B 400 Boondock Lite behind our 2014 GMC Sierra. Homeport is Olympia WA USA.
