Crack in Trim - How serious is this?

See pics. (Mods - let me know if these are too big - one is 421kb and the other 317kb.) Yesterday I found this crack in the trim. How serious is this and if left unchecked what damage could occur? My thought is that water would definitely get in there and do its thing. Can I simply fill this with all weather silicone and be done with it?

Thanks, Jerry

All that trim does is cover the screw heads underneath purely for looks. It is not very expensive and easy to replace. Just squeeze it together and pull it from the track. Silicones usually look worse than the crack after time. IMHO

@JP2558, here is what it looks like under the trim on my 2019. @Dalehelman is right, it is all sealed up. The trim is just decorative.

@Sharon_is_SAM - Thanks, I couldn't find that post regarding photo size this morning. Feel free to delete them as my query has been answered.

Well darn it! The latest road trip requires that I replace the entire piece of trim. Anyone with any links as to what specifically (description, width and length) and where to purchase? Thanks!
Thanks, Jerry

You can email help@nucamprv.com and ask for the part number. You must order it through a TaB dealer.Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio

You can buy that trim by the roll at any RV joint or online. It's nothing special. Easy to replace....

@WilliamA - JP2558 is referring to the hard, plastic colored trim on the S models, not the weather stripping.Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio

From NuCamp, the part number is:1” white screw cover – part id 78-90-7207

That looks an awful lot like this stuff. I don't know what a nuCamp dealer charges, but it is cheap and readily available from multiple sources.
There are different widths available, but it looks like nuCamp answered that question. If you wanted to get fancy you could even choose a different color for an accent. ;-)2015 T@B Max S (320)

@JP2558 - are you talking about the hard plastic trim or the vinyl weatherstrip?Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio
-
@Sharon_is_SAM, my response was based on the OP's original photos that showed a CS (no hard plastic trim) with a big crack in the weatherstrip (a.k.a., "vinyl screw cover").2015 T@B Max S (320)

Yeah, that's an oversight I would expect myself to make, but you are among the CS elite! ;-)2015 T@B Max S (320)

I saw the invoice from NuCamp… whoa $59 plus shipping and the description stated ‘rubber’ so I have the dealer rechecking the order. I expected it to be vinyl.
Update: trim received yesterday appears to be vinyl, indicating the part number on the invoice was correct.
Thanks, Jerry

Update: Easily installed on both sides earlier today. The stuff NuCamp sent seemed to be firmer than what I removed, however the old stuff was four years old and subject to NW Ohio weather which includes hot, humid summers, and always cold, and occasionally brutal winters. Now I need a good recommendation on the type of caulk to seal the top of the handle assembly frame, where the trim runs under the handle frame and down along the front to the underside of the trailer. Suggestions anyone?
Thanks, Jerry

I need to replace the same vinyl trim on my 2016 trailer. Wondering how easy is it to remove the coloured panels on the front so I can run the vinyl all the way through? Thanks
-
@Gellog, it is easy. Although the below photos are from my 2018 T@B 320 S, it should be the same, or very similar, as yours. Just remove the outside (driver's side screws), which may be all you need to gain access to the area for insertion of the trim. However, you may have to remove some existing caulking/sealant in the area where the handle attaches, AND possibly also remove the handle, to gain full access to the metal track. On my trailer, there is no vinyl in the track, because nuCamp had changed to the plastic trim over that metal track (see last photo.) You will need to re-caulk any areas where caulk has been removed. Also, it would be a good idea to put a small amount of caulk/sealant in the screw holes before replacing the screws, to prevent water intrusion. Hope this helps.

Thanks that is so helpful! I was wondering what was behind the panels now I know.
