Solar -Lithium Question

Lithium batteries seem to have the longest life when charged to 80-90% and occasionally charged to 100%. With an active solar panel system the battery would be charged to 100% when the trailer is stored and kept at 100%. If one had an additional switch to disconnect the solar charging when stored would there be any negative affect on the solar panels ?

No negative effect on the panels when switched off.Rich2019 T@b 400

You should also be able to change the charge setting to just charge the lithium battery/batteries to 80-90%.

This may be true of Lithium Ion batteries, but it doesn’t seem to be the case with Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries.RCB said:Lithium batteries seem to have the longest life when charged to 80-90% and occasionally charged to 100%. if you are worried about continual charging just turn the solar charger off once you have reached 100% charge._____________________________________________________

What @elbolilo says. LiFePo batteries want to be charged to 100% in normal use (one of the reasons the new low end Tesla Model 3 is using them). They should be partially discharged for long term storage. Let ‘em charge and then use them all the way down to shutoff (if needed), they’ll work just fine. All standard “RV” batteries are LiFePo, they are much safer than other chemistries.2019 Honda Ridgeline RTL TV

As per Battleborn, SOC should be 50% or more and then remove any charge or discharge. I turn off the solar charging and the Perko. Done!
Being charged to 100% is not an issue, as long as the "float voltage" is 13.4 to 13.6. Progressive Dynamics converters are programmed that exact way. The MPPT Solar Charge Controller can eb set to mirror this.
