Major water leak from under Alde

We dewinterized our camper this spring, sanitized the tank, filled up with fresh water and headed out. At the campsite we discovered we had a water leak. After turning on the pump there was water on the floor inside the trailer running out from under the bench were the Alde and water lines are. It was also running out underneath the trailer. We lost most of our water and camped without using any running water.

We finally got around to doing some trouble shooting this weekend. We double checked that all the valves were camping season mode and turned on the water pump. Water started running out from the drip pan under the front corner of the Alde. We then bypassed the Alde closing the hot and cold-water valves and everything thing was fine. Water running in the kitchen but nothing leaking inside the trailer or outside from underneath. We’re going to make some phone calls tomorrow but I’m wondering if anyone has an idea of what the problem is. We have a 2020 Tab 320 S.

    We have seen Alde tank leaks before.

    Thanks Sharon.  I've read through several threads about Alde leaks but I didn't see any that seemed like what was going on here.  No valves or connections appear to be leaking and we don't have water dipping or trickling, it's a full on river.

    There was at least 1 other owner with a cracked tank.  I can’t find the thread.

    When it was winterized last fall, did you use the blow-out method, or antifreeze?

    Is it possible you neglected to drain/winterize the Alde?

    We winterized using antifreeze.  I don't remember the my exact steps but I had the dewinterizing guide from nucamp with me to follow along.  I'm wondering it I didn't lift the yellow lever but I honestly don't remember.

    Not draining the Alde could easily result in freeze damage that could cause the leak you're seeing.  :(

    We also had a major leak when we dewinterized and the hot water tank had to be put into bypass all summer in order for us to use the camper. We only had cold water but at least it was some water. We followed the instructions to the letter for winterizing including lifting the yellow valve, but still something inside the alde failed. We were still under warranty and contacted nucamp. They refuse to take responsibility and we are stuck with a 5,000 repair bill to completely replace the alde. Not sure where you ended up but that’s how our story ends…..

    @Canucktabby I'm sorry to hear your story.  Were you able to still use your Alde for heat?  We have had the hot water tank bypassed all summer to camp.  We've had a number of trips scheduled without much time in between to take it somewhere and have it looked at.  Now that the camping season is winding down we're going to have to look at taking it in.
