TAB400 Bathroom door hinge source

The top hinge on the bathroom door broke and I am trying to find a replacement. It looks like a kitchen cabinet hinge but Lowes didn’t have a match. Has anybody needed to replace one? We are on a three month trip.

    I took my broken hinge to Rocklers and found a replacement.  I replaced one and it has been worked out well. I did buy three in case the others failed. I will check the hinge packaging for details and post it later this morning.

    Jeff, Found the hinge package.  They come in pairs.

    You can also get the hinges from nüCamp via a dealer.  I got my replacement washroom door top hinge from nüCamp through our local dealer.  Good to know of an additional source.  These are stock hardware parts nüCamp buys for their builds.

    The OEM bathroom hinge that broke on my 400 (2018) was from Hardware Resources. Contact Cristina.Zapata@hardwareresources.com for a distributor. Compact Hinge: Part # 22855.  Took about a week.

    I have called nucamp directly (parts, 330-852-4820) for any part that I needed to replace.

    I got mine from nucamp from the dealer.

    lesson learned that the door is heavier than the design of the hinge. so we bolt the door while traveling now.

    After replacing the top broken hinge with the rockler hinge noted in a previous post, I noticed two additional hinges had broken after many months.  I replaced the hinges with the Rockler hinges and had difficulty with the door latch.  once I returned home, I ordered the suggested hinges from Build.com, replaced them all and the door is back to normal.  The steel hinges appear stronger than the original hinges with die cast parts which failed.

    I ran over a big highway pothole in Baja California a couple of days ago and the jolt broke three of the bathroom door hinges in our 2021 400 BD. Took the door off and the problem is apparent - the door is too heavy and the hinges are pot metal. Still have 5-6 weeks to go on the trip. Ditched the door and we’re using the shower curtain to cover the bathroom entry. I’ll figure out a permanent solution that does not involve the original door. Bad design, NuCamp.

    Thank you for this information!  We either broke a hinge when removing the door OR it was already broken and was discovered as a result of removing the door.  We are removing the plastic trim and installing an aluminum channel in its place.  I am continually amazed at the knowledge base of this forum.  Thank you!

    Did the aluminum channel work with the new hinge? Coming across a rough washboard 9 mile road 3 hinges sheared off. I replaced and reinstall but screws popped right out again. Was thinking to put a channel. Did you screw it down on the sides or inside the bathroom?

    Funny this is happening quite a bit. My top hinge also broke (sheared). Luckily I had a replacement when Nucamp sent a new door and hardware (due to a warped original door). 

    What I also found was that all of the screws holding the door hinges on were overdriven and basically spinning in their respective holes. This follows what I found on most of the interior cabinetry…many of the screws were overdriven and stripped out. Wood glue and toothpicks works wonders.

    Hello All,  Just wondering if anyone has used the hinges that Crashjg suggested.  These do appear to be more robust.  The design uses a steel backer plate, which is more flexible and stronger than direct mount to the casting.  However, the counter-sink holes provided on the plate appear to be intended for a #6 flat head screw rather than the original #8 screw.  I am concerned about the #6 screws pulling out.  Please advise of your experience with this.

    Just returned from four months to Alaska and we broke at one time or another every hinge on our bathroom door.  We have a 2019 t@b 400 and the trip around the bathroom entrance was black plastic.  If you try and tighten the hinge you end up cracking the plastic.  Nucamp no longer uses the black plastic but now white aluminum.  I had this installed with new hinges and haven't had a problem.  The hinges themselves were pretty cheap from nucamp, so I carry a few for emergencies but I think the aluminum trim will make all the difference.

    I know this is an old thread but since I found it helped point me in the right direction, I thought I’d post some new information to help those looking for replacement hinges. 


    In my 2018 TAB 400, I noticed that all but one wet bath door hinge was broken. Since the originals used cheap cast metal at the frame attachment I wanted to find something better, rather than replace them with ones likely to fail the same way. 


    I found these stainless steel hinges on Amazon. They fit perfectly and I am hoping they will be much more durable.
